This page is so inaccurate. First off, there's proof that Annabeth's older than Percy, not younger--check out the British website.

Jason, Piper, and Leo did NOT go on their quest in "2009". They definitely went somewhere in 2010, because in the last few chapters on The Lost Hero, it said "Party Ponies-2010" or something like that. I think that if this page is to remain, we've gotta clean it up.

I noticed that as well. PJDMAY14 "Trust is something gained, never earned." 18:19, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

The chapter in The Lost Hero features two t-shirts, reading "Party Ponies '09 Vegas" and "Party Ponies '10 Honolulu" so it could refer to 2009 and 2010 indeed - but to 1809 or 1910 just as well. At least I guess Winter 2010 is the last possible date for The Lost Hero. Do anyone know where the fact about Percys and Annabeth's birthyear come from? Is it in the books or on an reliable website? I would like to ask how Apollo and Artemis' birthdays were found. The sixth and seventh of Thargelia, which equate to about the sixth and seventh of May, are believed to be the gods' actual birthdays . However, I may have missed this detail in the books.

Uhpollo (talkcontribs) 19:14, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

Actually, in Percy Jackson's Greek Gods, it is said that Artemis and Apollo were born on the seventh day of the seventh month (which would be July 7 in modern times I guess). Here's the quote: "They were born on the seventh day of the seventh month, when Leto was seven months pregnant, so their holy number was thirteen. (Just kidding. It was seven.)" - Apollo Sings and Dances and Shoots People

Most years are off by one year[]

For example, according to Percy Jackson's birthday and the publication of the first book-

2004-2005 school year- 12 years old- 6th grade (The Lightning Thief/Published 2005)

2005-2006 school year- 13 years old- 7th grade (The Lightning Thief/published 2005-The Sea of Monsters/published 2006)

2006-2007 school year- 14 years old- 8th grade (The Titan's Curse/published 2007-The Battle of the Labryinth/published 2008)

2007-2008 school year- 15 years old- 9th grade (The Battle of the Labryinth/published 2008-The Last Olympian/published 2009)

2008-2009 school year- 16 years old- 10th grade (The Last Olympian/published 2009-The Mark of Athena/published 2012)

2005 - 13 = 1992

That would make Percy's birthday August 18th, 1992, Annabeth's birthday ? ? 1992, Thalia's birthday December 22nd, 1987, and Luke's birthday ? ? 1985, just to name a few.

The publication dates of the books and the actual year the books take place isn't the same. Darkcloud1111~Fastest Hero Alive 23:21, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

Timeline[]

I'm the one who set the date of TLH to 2009 and TLT to 2006. Here is how I got to this conclusion(I found this with the help of KC and SoS too).In SoN, Thanatos used an iPad, which came out April 2010. In TTC, Chiron said that December 21, the winter solstice, was on Friday. In TRP, Sadie was listening to 19, and it came out January 2008. And in SoS, Carter said TRP happened two winters ago.

So, using these facts, it's like this:

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

The Lightning Thief................Summer 2006

The Sea of Monsters................Summer 2007

The Titan's Curse..................Winter 2007

The Battle of the Labyrinth........Summer 2008

The Last Olympian..................Summer 2009

The Heroes of Olympus

The Lost Hero......................Winter 2009

The Son of Neptune.................Summer 2010

The Mark of Athena.................Summer 2010

Kane Chronicles

The Red Pyramid....................Winter 2008

The Throne of Fire.................Spring 2009

The Serpent's Shadow...............Fall 2009

And finally,

The Son of Sobek...................??? 2010

Doesn't it make sense?

Joseph Ralloma 00:14, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

Looks right to me, and seems like it matches up with the dates and years we have listed. The Son of Sobek is most likely in the Summer, as neither Carter or Percy are wearing jackets. Also, kids are having water balloon fights and Percy is at Camp Half-Blood, something he normally only does in the summer. It is also the only time of year where Percy could be chasing it for weeks and not worry about missing school. Darkcloud1111 Umbreon1111Fastest Hero Alive 00:31, May 27, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing up the look of my list, Dark! Oh, yeah, I also studied TLO, and I think I got the dates for the book pretty well. August 13, 2009 was when the book started, according to my count. Also, if Rachel's vacation started the day after the Princess Andromeda blew up, August 14, then it would have started on a Friday. Also, the truce meeting was on August 16, and according to Percy, they walked off "like it was just a regular sunny Sunday afternoon I checked the calendar, and August 16, 2009 was a SundayJoseph Ralloma 01:09, May 27, 2013 (UTC)

I think that the dates need to be changed. In TLH, there was something about the Party Ponies that said '10, Honolulu. That means that TLH takes place in at least the year 2010, and the timeline needs to be pushed a year forward.AegisCamera (talkcontribs) 16:17, January 28, 2014 (UTC)

However if you look at the rest of the paragraph, Piper mentions if Chiron's "Greatest Hits of the 40's" tape could be from the 1940's, 1840's, or just the 40's. The shirts could also be from 1910 (the Las Vegas shirt reads '09 and Las Vegas was established in 1905). Darkcloud1111 Umbreon1111Fastest Hero Alive 00:20, January 29, 2014 (UTC)

Percy and Annabeth's birth years[]

Well, I just got a hell of a long message from PercyBenckendorf33 about this. I'm trying to figure out the right birth year for them. Doing the math, their ages in the books are right, but the actual years are hard to tell. How do we know that they were even born in the '90s?--Annabeth and Percy~The beauty you are when you open your heart and believe in the gift of a friend. 21:34, May 26, 2015 (UTC)

We know that they are born in the 90's. The advancement of technology wouldn't even make sense otherwise. Most of the fandom has come to agree that Percy was born in 1993 (typically). The book came out in summer of 2005, so idk why he thinks the start date is 2006 though. I never put he was born in 1992, so idk if you did. Even on Percy's page it says 1993. Some user had this long ass explanation so I left him change it. But technically it's not 2005 - 13 it should be 2005 - 12 because he's twelve when the book begins?? I guess I can force the admin team to discuss it amongst ourselves so everyone can stop changing it. I also asked Tumblr edit: they tell me 1993. SayuriDarling | "But a mermaid has no tears, and therefore she suffers so much more." 23:56, May 26, 2015 (UTC)
So if he was born in 1992, Percy would be 12 in 2005 until his birthday, which would be in August 2005. Then, he would turn 14 in August 2006 (SoM), 15 in August 2007 (TTC), 16 in August 2008 (BotL) and 17 in August 2009 (TLO).That means, in order to be 16 by the time of the Great Prophecy in 2009, he would have to be born in 1993. So yeah, he was born in 1993. HC (talk | stalk) 00:25, May 27, 2015 (UTC)
K so I forgot TTC was in Winter of 2006. So BotL was in Summer of 2007, then TLO was in summer of 2008, in which Percy for a fact turns 16. If in 2008, he turns 16, then that means he had to have been born in 1992HC (talk | stalk) 00:46, May 27, 2015 (UTC)
We did math with HC in chat and we concluded that they were born in 1992. Any further argument will be ignored because we are done here. :) PoseidonEpicness45 To know what is right and to choose to ignore it is an act of a coward 00:56, May 27, 2015 (UTC)

I don't understand why you guys are changing Percy and Annabeth's birth year to 1992 again and again! It is 1993. The lightning thief incident was at june 2006 when Percy was at age 12, later that year at August he turned 13. In June 2007 during the sea of monsters he was 13, and December 2007 during the Titan's curse he was 14. June 2008 at the battle of labyrinth he was 14 and in the last chapter of that book it was August  and he had his 15th birthday. In the last Olympian, which was at August 2009, he turned 16 and completed the great prophecy. At December 2009 he went lost. From son of Neptune to blood of Olympus, which was during June to early August 2010 he was mentioned as 16 year old. Annabeth  turned 17 at July that year Percy was a month away from his 17th birthday.  Throughout the whole Heroes of Olympus series Jason was mentioned a year younger than Annabeth ,  It was mentioned in Mark of Athena- Jason having his 16th birthday.  Thalia was 9 years old when Jason was just 2. Which means Thalia was born in 22 December 1987. Now don't mess up again, telling me that  when Thalia turned into tree she was 12 and Annabeh was 7. But that's because Thalia's birthday's at December, that incident was during the late summer or fall that year which's surely 2000. Annabeth  and Luke turned 7 and 14 that year, and Thalia was about to turn 13 that December. Is it clear to you now guys?

It was almost Christmas time when Annabeth ran away. So Thalia might've just turned 12 that year.--Annabeth and Percy~The beauty you are when you open your heart and believe in the gift of a friend. 13:04, May 27, 2015 (UTC)

The lightning thief book was published in 2005 doesn't mean the event of the book was also in 2005!  You guys calculations are correct, so is mine. But yours' is getting conflicted with the heroes of Olympus timeline. Jason and Frank are a year younger than Percy and Annabeth , (clearly mentioned in the books). If so than how can they be born at 1995 and Percy and Annabeth  at 1992?!  This is ridiculous! I corrected them to 1994 and 1993. And you guys are messing it up again!  Every other website in the net states that Percy was born in 18th August 1993, so was our site. But now you're saying otherwise only because you're insisting on the lightning thief event was on 2005 and not 2006!

Also read the this talk page's  Timeline topic above. It matches characters' birthdays and events..PercyBeckendorf33 (talkcontribs) 08:34, May 27, 2015 (UTC)

Dude, we did the math as best as we could. We pretty much came to the conclusion, the best estimate assuming that The Lightning Thief year in the book is the same year that it was released, which was 2005, that Percy and Annabeth were born in 1992. (How do you figure that the year in that book is 2006, anyway?) So that makes Jason and Frank, whom we know are a year younger than them, to be born in 1993. How about instead of continuing to argue, you change the birth years on Jason and Frank's page.--Annabeth and Percy~The beauty you are when you open your heart and believe in the gift of a friend. 13:01, May 27, 2015 (UTC)
I also calculated it myself dear. Now why are you changing only Percy and Annabeth's birth year instead of all the other characters birth year and all the years of the events throughout the books?!  The earlier admins of this page concluded it to 1993 and TLT event to be at 2006. And now you're saying 1992 and and 2005! Guys please stop it! Until you find any clear evidence or proof that it's 1992 and TLT event to be 2005. We'll keep it as it was for most of the time last 2-3 years, and what other websites says, which's 1993.  Or please delete the page and end all the argumentsPercyBeckendorf33 (talkcontribs) 14:59, May 27, 2015 (UTC)
What about rather you find where it states or helps conclude that the book was set in 2006. You are not demonstrating any verification that the setting was in 2006. It is not an inept choice to accept that the books were set in the year that they were distributed. And, no, the page won't be erased due to a plausible time error. This Wiki will not fall if there is some age inconspicuity on a few pages. So, please, chill. -HC (talk | stalk) 19:43, May 27, 2015 (UTC)
I was considering just taking off every single year. It's not like, "Oh, magically just one of us wanted to change it". Multiple users who aren't the rb's or admins have changed it, so we changed it. It kept being challenged that's why. Now that it's been challenged, we have to come together as a community and figure it out/make a decision. and we have to make the decision w/o dark ;-; SayuriDarling | "But a mermaid has no tears, and therefore she suffers so much more." 20:05, May 27, 2015 (UTC)

There is a slight mistake on his birthyear. In the first book (taking place in 2005) he stated he was 12. Making his birthday between June 1992 and June 1993. Making him only 11 if he was born in August 18 1993. This also is a problem given the rest of the series. The second book was at the same time the next year, still keeping to the range stated earlier as he said he was 13. Then in the next book which was six months later, he stated he was 14. Making his birthday in between June and December 1992. Since the time was still 2006. Then in book four, another six months later or the most part ends with his birthday in August and he turned fifteen. But it was only the following year, making it 2007 and him still having to be born in 1992. Then in the last book which was another year later, he says he turns sixteen on August 18. And it was only the following year, meaning that if you do the math the last book had to take place in 2008 and not 2009. Therefore making him supposed to be born in 1992 and not 1993  —The preceding unsigned comment is by user Morgan Kingsley (talkcontribs).

Locked[]

I've locked the page until we can figure this out. I don't have my books on me, and I wiped my computer once so I don't have the eBooks. Someone needs to look for the years of HOO now since that's seems to the basis for the other argument? Do they even say what year they are born in during HOO (probably maybe)? The easiest way to do it is to download the eBooks and then just search for 199_ or something. I can do it when I get home later today, but not now. It would be appreciated. it's says that Percy "begins training at Camp-Half Blood" in 2006 and that he was born in 1992 but I know for sure that in The Lightning Thief Percy is 12 so I'm really confused because because if I use the calculator that's on my computer and I put 1992 what you say in Percy's birth year and then + it by 12 it dose not come up with 2006 the year you say Percy first get to Camp-Half Blood it comes up with 2004 so like I said I'm really confused  DaughterofaKing (talkcontribs) 00:06, June 13, 2015 (UTC)

Battle of the Labyrinth dates[]

it is said that it is impossible to tell the dates of events in Battle of the Labyrinth but I'm re-reading it now and Grover says: "Do you know what day it is, Percy? I just saw it on TV. It’s June thirteenth. Seven days since we left camp."

So they entered the Labyrinth on June sixth.

Also, Mount St. Helens erupted on July 10, 2008; that's the volcano that Percy blew up.

Abyranss (talkcontribs) 07:34, September 16, 2015 (UTC)

Can you give me a page number before I add the events in for a source? Thanks. SayuriDarling | "People can’t save you, but they can destroy you." 04:01, September 17, 2015 (UTC)
Well, the Mount St. Helens date is a fact, look it up on Google and you'll see it says 'Last eruption: July 10, 2008' and due to the fact that Rick uses real events in the series(es) that has to be it. I'm reading a copy of BotL on my computer so the page may be a bit off but Grover says his part on page 114, they're at the Triple G Ranch. Abyranss (talkcontribs) 05:22, September 17, 2015 (UTC)
Here's my take—which I might start a new section for but not sure.
We know that the June 13th date is explicitly written in the book. You've concluded that means seven days before was the 6th.
I'm questioning this as I am re-reading (keyword being since but maybe I'm reading into it too much...). However, the book opens with Percy saying "But there I was Monday morning, the first week of June." Assuming this is 2008, this implies that the book begins on June 2nd. So, June 2nd they arrive at camp, June 3rd is the training game when they find the entrance, June 4th they have a war meeting and decide on the quest, June 5th they leave at dawn. This is what I have deducted based on the story with the dreams and the meals, "that night"'s, "next morning"'s and "tomorrow"'s. So I actually think that they left on the 5th, not the 6th. This is a small discrepancy but I think it is important to look at. Grover says he is reading the date off the TV sometime around 2 am on the 13th and he says 7 days since we left, which makes sense as the 6th would be one day since they departed. What do you think?
Also, not sure about the Mount St. Helens eruption timeline yet... I just did some investigation and the last eruption date you found is incorrect to my knowledge. I don't think it is a reliable date to base things on, which is frustrating. It did not make sense in the timeline anyway.
Thanks! Leo2468 (wall) 04:13, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Thalia's birth year[]

I don't understand why after so many years and so many discussions the confusion is back again! As I've explained before, Thalia's birth year is 1987 and not 1988. As mentioned in The Lost Hero, she's 7 years senior to Jason. And as for why she was 12 to Annabeth's 7 when she was turned into the pine tree, the incident was during or before summer. Had she not died, she would've made it to her 13th birthday which was supposed to be late December that year. I know it's easy to get confused, but we have discussed it before and made our calculations. So I request our newer members and admins not to edit years in this wikia without reading our discussions. Lightning Thief Timeline Pre-Quest[]

Okay, to start off June 11 (when Percy, Annabeth and Grover leave camp for their quest) is 2 weeks AFTER Percy arrived at Camp. [ "After two weeks at half-blood hill..." -Percy, narrating, pg. 157] which places his arrival at May 28th (Which would be the day the defeated the Minotaur, his mother disappeared, and he passed out.)

He then spends the next 2 days unconscious (Following my proposed timeline would put this at May 29th and May 30th.) ["You've been out for two days." -Grover, pg. 59]

He then wakes up on May 31st, and is shown around the camp, introduced to Cabin 11, and then Clarisse and his 'fight' in the camp bathrooms happens. ["That was my first day at Camp Half-Blood." -Percy, narrating, pg. 106]

The next few days he's supposed to be falling into routine, but we know that Capture the Flag is on Friday ["Capture the Flag is Friday night." -Chiron, Pg. 79] and that the Thursday before that is when he has sword lessons with Luke and the rest of cabin 11. ["Thursday afternoon, three days after I arrived at Camp Half-Blood, I had my first sword-fighting lesson. Everybody from cabin eleven gathered in the big circular arena, where Luke would be our instructor." - Percy, Narrating, pg. 109] Now, here Percy uses the word 'Arrived', but if you think about the fact that his "first day" is on May 31st, even though he's been at camp for 3 days (but unconscious), that places that Thursday on June 2nd, and Capture the Flag on June 3rd.

So, if capture the flag is on June 3rd, and Percy is claimed at the end of Capture the Flag that puts him being claimed 1 week before the wiki previously mentioned.

Percy is moved into Cabin 3 the morning after Capture the Flag, so that puts it at June 4th. ["The next morning, Chiron moved me to Cabin 3." -Percy, Narrating, pg.127]

We can gather that on June 10th someone put a newspaper in his cabin (although the Newspaper itself is from June 4th, one week after the Minotaur incident. ["Sally Jackson and son Percy are still missing one week after their mysterious disappearance" -newspaper article, pg. 128] This can be gathered because he has a nightmare the night before being summoned to the big house. ["That night I had my worst dream yet." -Percy, narrating, pg. 129]

We can also infer it had been at least a few days in between his being claimed and being summoned based on the quote "For days, I'd been half expecting a summons to the Big House. Now that I was declared a son of Poseidon, one of the Big Three gods who weren't supposed to have kids, I figured it was a crime for me to just be alive. The other gods had probably been debating the best way to punish me for existing, and now Mr. D was going to deliver their verdict." [Percy, narrating, Pg. 131]

We know for sure that the Quest starts on June 11th, so Percy meets with the Oracle, packs a bag, goes into NYC and gets on a bus that day.

We can determine that the Furys blowing up the bus and the trip to Medusa's lair happened on June 11th because of this quote: "I was angry, not just at Annabeth and her mom, but with all of the gods for this whole quest, for getting us blown off the road and in two major fights the very first day out from camp." [-Percy, narrating, pg. 185] We know it was the same day because of these quotes. ["By the time we got to Manhattan it was Sunset and it had started to rain" -Percy, Narrating, pg.158] ["We hit Lincoln Tunnel, and the bus went dark except for the running lights down the isle." -Percy, Narrating, pg. 162] ["...Walking in the woods along the New Jersey riverbank, the glow of New York City making the night sky yellow behind us..." -Percy, Narrating, pg. 168] ["'Not much light for a photo.' I remarked. 'Oh enough,' Aunty Em said. 'Enough to see each other, yes?'" pg. 178] and finally ["The furys and Medusa had provided enough excitement for one day." -Percy, Narrating, pg. 188]

So to clarify (Because there's a lot here.)

Saturday, May 28- Percy defeats the Minotaur, his mom disappears, and he drags Grover to safety.

Sunday/Monday, May 29/30- Percy is unconscious (Also sometime during this Grover retrieves the Minotaur horn from Half-Blood Hill.)

Tuesday, May 31- Percy wakes up and is shown around the camp, shown the cabins, Meets Luke and the rest of Cabin 11, then an attempt to 'initiate' him is made by Clarisse and the bathroom incident happens

Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, June 1/2/3- Percy falls into a routine, taking Ancient Greek in the mornings with Annabeth and then rotating out skill classes in the afternoon.

Thursday, June 2- Percy has sword training day with Cabin 11

Friday, June 3- Percy is almost killed by a rock wall in the afternoon, learns the story of Thalia while sitting at the Pier with Grover. Capture the Flag is that evening, and he is then claimed.

Saturday, June 4- Percy is moved to cabin 3. A newspaper is released with the story of Sally and Percy's Disappearance.

Friday, June 10- Newspaper is put in his cabin, he has an awful nightmare.

Saturday, June 11- He receives a quest, talks to the oracle, goes to the bus station in NYC. The bus gets blown up, and the trio is lured into Medusa's hideout and subsequently kill Medusa.

All of these dates correspond with the calendar for 2005, so it seems pretty accurate. Hopefully this clears things up! Awild00vulpix (talkcontribs) 20:45, June 3, 2019 (UTC)Awild00vulpix (Emily)

Grover's birthday comes on 5th of June. Even Rick Riordan writes this in the Singer of Apollo.

Complete Overhaul[]

I strongly think that the way this page is structured is bad. I think it should be structured by year, and then by month. e.g. 2010- January- Event. I plan to do this within a few days. Any objections?

In one of the ToA books, it mentions how Apollo and Artemis were born on the 7th day of the 7th month which for the Ancient Greeks would be Gamelion (as Apollo also said). According to hellenion.org, Gamelion 7th (Apollo's godly birthday) was on January 25 in 2018 and January 14 in 2019. Artemis's is the day before. Therefore shouldnt the page be changed in some way to reflect this?Ëmėřgêńčÿ Ęxït Đœ Ñöt Błøćk (talkcontribs) 01:54, December 14, 2019 (UTC)

About what I last said on Apollo's birthday, this means that Apollo's actual birthday happened around the time of THO, just gonna mention that too.Ëmėřgêńčÿ Ęxït Đœ Ñöt Błøćk (talkcontribs) 02:10, December 14, 2019 (UTC)

Leo and Frank[]

How do you know when Leo and Frank have a birthday? Rick Riordan revealed this on Twitter?

The Lost Hero year[]

The Lost Hero has to take place in winter 2010-11, because in chapter 4 (and I think elsewhere, but I can't find it), Annabeth tells Piper that they added a bunch of new cabins to Camp Half-Blood "last year." They would have added these cabins after Percy's deal/promise with the gods, so after the Titan War, which means that The Lost Hero has to be about a year after The Last Olympian. Or am I missing something?

Demigods and Magicians[]

I am currently writing a FanFiction that takes place during the time period of Demigods and Magicians and noticed that it was not included on the timeline. From what I can piece together from what was said in canon, it takes place in the autumn after the second gigantomachy. A now-deleted reddit user in r/camphalfblood has the 3 stories taking place in September, October, and December of 2010 respectively. Should this be added to the timeline here?

Here's a link to the reddit post if any of you want to look at it: https://www.reddit.com/r/camphalfblood/comments/7hdd9d/complete_rick_riordan_timeline/

Shouldn't The Search for The Golden Dragon take place during the ending of BOTL? In Lost Hero, Nyssa says Beckendorf repaired it a few summers back, i.e. not summer of that year. Furthermore, both BOTL and Search For The Golden Dragon mention the fireworks show. Percy also states in SFTGD that he went on a quest two weeks back. The quest we see in BOTL ends in mid-July and SFTHGD takes place at the end of July.
