I don think Nico has self esteem issues.
Are you sure?
He seemed to, I’m not sure how to put this…limit himself?
You use this argumentative logic a lot, such as with Leo, he never limits himself, show a single scene where he holds back and limits his own powers, I'd like to see, doubting is so much more different than limiting, so if that's the connection, well, there is none.
Piper is either second or third. She clearly diminishes her own status in The Lost Hero. I wouldn’t say she overcame that feeling at the end of The Blood of Olympus, but I think by The Burning Maze, she trusts herself 100%.
More insecure and doubting of herself than Percy for sure, I'd say she takes second, and Percy takes fourth since Nico's more insecure overall, especially at their introductions, but she overcomes her issues and insecurity well to me by her last showing in the books.
Didn’t notice Grover, it might be him then since he blamed himself for a lot of things in The Lightning Thief.
Yeah, you're right.
I’m pretty sure Percy outright compared himself to Gabe in the context of how much trouble they make for his mom. That’s pretty low self esteem right there.
Well, yes, but that was one time at a younger age, and it was more Gabe than him.

We're specifically talking about TLT Percy, so I'm not sure what you mean.
Wait, never mind, I forgot. Still think Percy was more confident than most by then.

Yes.

I’ll have to find some, but:
“I try very hard to be annoying,” Leo said. “Don’t insult my ability to annoy. And how am I supposed to resent you if you go apologizing? I’m a lowly mechanic. You’re like the prince of the sky, son of the Lord of the Universe. I’m supposed to resent you.” -The Lost Hero.

I disagree.
I still haven’t decided. Percy still kinda doubts himself and his achievements even after The Blood of Olympus.
“I so rarely succeed that I just crouched there, stunned, my hand trembling on the hilt.” -The Crown of Ptolemy.

This doesn't show limiting at all, he's just comparing himself to Jason.

Despite his confidence in multiple situations, he can't believe he finally finished something the way he did. Also, he doesn't rarely succeed, so I don't even know where that quote's angle is coming from, he succeeds on multiple ventures.
Exactly. He’s comparing himself to Jason and is limiting himself by sticking to the title ‘lowly mechanic’.
Yeah. I was also confused with that quote.
The whole idea of that quote is that Percy doubts his abilities and achievements despiute all that he's done, showing he has self doubt,

Comparing is different from limiting, but the other quote was confusing.

But that quote makes no sense, he's defeated giants, gods, monsters, it's weird.
What do you think?
