Katie Gardner and Travis Stoll vs Clarisse La Rue and Chris Rodriguez
Comment below and I’ll tally the scores.
I’d say his mythological counterpart would be Heracles. Percy has completed the feats of many ancient heroes, but none more so than Heracles. And they are the greatest heroes of their respective times.
Annabeth I feel mirrors Odysseus. Odysseus and Annabeth are both great warriors that lean on their intellect and trickery. An example of them mirroring each other is when they defeated Circe with the help of Hermes. Or the story of Polyphemus.
Clarisse is the blatant mirror of Achilles. The Last Olympian is the best example of this. Achilles/Clarisse feels that their honor is slighted and will not fight. Patroclus/Silena disguise themselves as Achilles/Clarisse and die in battle. At their death, Achilles/Clarisse is enraged and avenges their death. Afterwards, they drag the corpse of the killer behind their chariot.
Jason is Jason. Incredible, I know. They both lost one shoe. They both have the favor of Hera. And they both needed a powerful girl to help them succeed, Piper/Medea.
Like I just mentioned, Piper/Medea are mirror images of each other. They both help their respective Jasons. They both, in RV specifically, have charmspeak. And they both have their relationship with their Jason end, though Piper’s was much less tragic.
I could go on and name several more, but I think I’ll stop here.
I am rating the names based on their meanings. This is purely for fun and to see some of the meanings. I have no idea if Rick picked the names because of their meaning or because he simply liked them.
Jackson (Son of Jack)
6/10 The first name is pretty good especially in HoO but the last name is different
Annabeth (Full of grace)
5/10 I really have no idea for these, I guess the first name is OK,
Underwood (Lived near woods)
7/10 The last name is perfect but the first is a little strange.
La Rue (Lived by a road)
3/10 In my opinion no
6/10 The first is pretty good and the last isn't horrible
5/10 The first mean female sheep so that's a little weird, but the last one is perfect
Nico (People of victory)
Di Angelo (From the angel)
8/10 I think the name meanings really suit him maybe not as a little kid but later on.
Di Angelo (From the angel)
8/10 She joins the hunters and swears off men so the first is on point and the last one is pretty good
Nakamura (Village in the middle)
5/10 Pretty good I don't really know
Probably will do another later with the other series but for now, that's all. If there are any I missed put them in the comments and I'll add them to the list. if there are any disagreements about the ratings go ahead and comment them below but be respectful. This was just for fun.
EDIT: I did HoO too!
She has long, straight, shiny, black hair (that goes down to her knees)
She’s wearing black leggings, black shirt, black leather jacket, and black high heels
She’s also wearing purple lipstick
She has green eyes and pale skin
Who is the head of the Ares cabin since Clarisse left ?
He’s powerful and kinda reminds me of Harry Potter. He is brave and does anything he can to save his friends, which he can easily make with his charming personality.
Annabeth is the same as Percy: loyal and is also very smart, which reminds me of Hermione Granger.
He’s curious and knows everything there is to know about mechanics, he’s smart but is afraid of his powers. Although he is careful and helps friends, like how he was the main engineer of the Argo 2, which majorly helped their quest have a chance to succeed.
Nico sticks to his friends even though he doesn’t always get along with them, and so even though he’s a son of the god of the underworld, he isn’t a cunning Slytherin.
Piper used her charm speak to get what she wants, which in some people’s eyes be a good thing, and in others a bad, like when she turned the whole Aphrodite cabin against Drew. That was good for her and some of her cabin, but bad for Drew.
He chooses to honour everyone, and not just himself. He has a duty to his people and will save his friends, even if it means that he dies.
Hazel was patient and kind to her mother, and would stick by her side and with her decisions, no matter how much she saw her in pain.
I think that Frank is similar to Hazel, which is why they get along so well. He avoids getting into fights and makes sure that people are okay if something has happened.
I’m a bit undecided on this one. Clarisse has a big ego and puts herself before others but on some occasions she helps her friends and works with others, but I think she’s probably more of a Slytherin being a daughter of the war god.
Ok so, hear me out.
I was reading again the "CHB chronicles" and I found out that Clarisse IS NOT the only girl in Ares' cabin.
So my question is: do you think that other sisters hate Clarisse, is there competition? Or they admire her?
I think that the first option is more plausible. Clarisse is the only girl, or at least the first one, in her cabin to have their dad's respect. Maybe they're jealous?
Let me know, I'm curious!
