Ummmmm why does Wills page say
'He and Travis Stoll then went to rob a store for mortal medical supplies'.
Like that's what he told Travis NOT to do!!
Ethan is one of the most underappreciated characters in the Riordanverse I think. I know he only appeared in 2 books, but people don’t acknowledge his morals and understanding we saw throughout the Battle of Manhattan enough.
When Ethan got to CHB, he wasn’t claimed, he was stuck in the Hermes Cabin and felt as if he was a nobody. Ethan just wanted to be recognised, and he wanted balance. He traded his left eye to his mother Nemesis, and she promised he would one day restore the balance.
Percy and Luke were fighting during the Battle of Manhattan, both of them believing they were right, but really it depends where you stand. Ethan had the right idea, here's something he said in BotL: ‘There’s no right side. The gods never cared about us’
At the end of TLO, Ethan had the chance to be recognised, and, in the words of Kronos, he would receive ‘rewards beyond measure’. However, he realised the destruction that Kronos was causing, and even though he knew it would probably lead to his death, he went against Kronos anyway. Even his dying words were: ‘Deserve better… if they just... had thrones’.
I kind of wish Percy acknowledged his death more, Percy’s inner monologue hardly said anything about his death except that it happened. He wanted to make a difference for all the demigods who were feeling like they weren’t appreciated, and the minor gods who didn’t have thrones.
Ethan is one of my favourite characters ever and I wish we got to see him in more books. That’s all, thanks for reading :)
P.S.-Happy birthday Frank and Grover!!
