Actaeon was a hunter in Ancient Greece who was punished after finding the goddess Artemis bathing.
History[]
One day while hunting with his pack of dogs, Actaeon stumbled across Artemis bathing while his dogs were asleep. At the sight of the naked goddess, he immediately fell in love with her. He revealed himself and ran at the goddess. As punishment, the goddess turned him into a stag. Within a few minutes, his dogs pick up his scent and, not knowing it was Actaeon, went after him. Within minutes, Actaeon was killed by his own dogs.
