Tristan Strong Not part of Riordanverse

The following article/section is from the Tristan Strong continuity under Rick Riordan Presents and not the Riordanverse canon.

Brer Rabbit is central figure in the stories of Uncle Remus, a fictional narrator created by Joel Chandler Harris.

History[]

Brer Rabbit was told in many stories as a trickster who uses his wits.

Before the beginning, the animals lived next door to the moon, they loved sitting in their front yards seeing the pretty Sister Moon. But one day they began to noticed that she was losing weight, Brer Rabbit went to investigate. He learned that Sister Moon has gotten a cold and could not shine for a whine, but she did not want Mr. Man to complain about it. Sister Moon told Brer Rabbit to give this message to him, he took a big leap to Earth and was successful after noticing the delicious plants the planet had. But Mr. Man got mad and had a message of his own: she'll soon be forgotten and her feet will get cold. When that message was sent, Brer Rabbit and Sister Moon got into a fight, this is why the moon has claw marks and craters. When Brer Rabbit told the other animals about what he saw on Earth, they to go there away from the moon.[1]

In one story, Brer Rabbit stole some goober peas from Brer Fox's garden for his family. When he found them taken, Brer Fox set up a snare trap and Brer Rabbit got trapped the next time he came. Brer Bear came along and Brer Rabbit told him that he was earning a dollar a minute to be Brer Fox's scarecrow. So Brer Bear freed him and took his place, Brer Rabbit went to get Brer Fox. Brer Bear realized he was tricked and chased after Brer Rabbit but he disguised himself as Brer Bullfrog in a pond to escape.[2]

In another story, when all the other animals were surprised that Miss Squinch Owl was laughing for no reason, Brer Rabbit didn't want to participate in a laughing contest because he had his own place. The animals were shocked at this so-called Laughing Place, they wanted to know where it was. Brer Rabbit decided to take them there one at a time. Brer Fox went first while everyone else went home. When the two animals arrived at a place with bushes and vines, the rabbit told the fox to run right through them in order to get tickled and laugh. But while he was running the fox hit a hornet's nest, the rabbit laughed uncontrollably, that's why it was his Laughing Place. Mad, Brer Fox went home to his wife.[3]

In the Series[]

Overtime, Brer Rabbit became a god of African American folklore. He is fully dedicated to saving Midpass and Alke from total destruction even though he has grown world-weary in his old age.[4]
