Chang-Ah-Ling is a doll who switches bodies with Coco Chu.

Winston Chu Versus the Whimsies[]
After stopping a pair of would be robbers, Winston Chu is awarded the first thing he touches in the shop by Mr. Pang. He sees Chang-Ah-Ling on the shelf, but she is not for sail. Later, she switches bodies with Winston's younger sister Coco. Winston finds her and realizes something is off with his “sister”. He watches Coco blink and he recognizes it as the same as a doll from Mr. Pang's shop. Winston theorizes Coco has been replaced by her. Their mother comes home and Winston strives to convince her that Coco is possessed. However she does not believe him and and “Coco” hugs Winston while telling him to not talk about this. She and her mother leave just as Philippa returns. “Coco” and her mother return after she flushed legos and her mother and Philippa struggle to put “Coco” to bed.
A few days later, Ned Gu comes over for dinner and Willa Chu asks Winston to put her to bed. bed. He takes Chang-Ah-Ling to his mother’s room and reads a passage about magpieer, ” and she tells him to run. The following morning she gives Winston a drawing, he rejects it and she starts to cry. Winston’s mother forces him to accept it. Later Philippa takes her to the library and they come back with a book on poison. The following day she destroys Willa's laptop for her interview and pins it on Winston. The following day, as she is in the grocery store with Willa, she causes havoc. In the morning, she finds cleaning solution, but Willa takes it from her. Later that day during a blackout, she cowers in the corner as Philippe lights candles. After Winston gets Gum in Philippa's hair and Willa is forced to help remove it, Winston interrogates her with the lighter. She graves it just s the power comes back on. When Philippe’s and Willa come back and see her with the lighter, she cries and they blame Winston.
The following day, she goes with Willa to her first day of work and draws on the walls of the daycare. Later that night, Coco is recovered and she and Coco are placed in their respective bodies. She is then swept back to the shop.
Appearance[]
Chang-Ah-Ling is a porcelain doll the size of a preschooler with a black bobcut. She wears traditional Chinese clothing.
Personality[]
Chang-Ah-Ling is mischievous and manipulative.
Trivia[]
- Her name is a pun on changling, a mythical creature who switches out human babies with its own.
