Charon (pronounced Care-on) is a daimon and the Spirit of Boundaries and Territories. He is the ferryman that transports dead spirits to the Underworld.

"We Find Out the Truth, Sort Of"[]
Percy, Annabeth and Grover get their first view of the Underworld and spot Charon taking new arrivals across the River Styx, allowing Annabeth to pinpoint the main gate to the Underworld. The three push their way through the line, but are stopped by Charon who recognizes that they're not dead and that they didn't pay to cross. Ignoring Percy's offer of golden drachmas, Charon summons Cerberus using a dog whistle who chases them.

Charon is a tall robed figure. His face is mostly obscured by the hood of his robe.

- Pyrokinesis: Charon is able to generate and control fire.
Etymology[]
His name (Charon = χάρων) means: “of keen gaze”, referring either to fierce, flashing, or feverish eyes or to eyes of a bluish-gray color. His name may have been a euphemism for death.
Trivia[]
- Charon, Pluto's moon, was named after him.
- In Greek mythology, Charon is the god of Boundaries and Territories.
- Charon is portrayed by Julian Richings in the film adaption of The Lightning Thief. Richings portrays Procrustes in We Find Out the Truth, Sort Of of the TV series, an episode in which Charon appears as well, albeit portrayed by a different actor.
