Clarisse La Rue is a Greek demigod daughter of Ares, the god of war.

“I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom”[]
When Percy Jackson first arrived at Camp Half-Blood, she mocks him and later tries dunking his head in a toilet with her friends, but this backfires when Percy unknowingly uses his water powers to shoot the water back at them, blasting Clarisse and her friends out of the bathroom. During her battle with Percy on Capture the Flag, the new half-blood break her favorite weapon, an electric spear that was given to her by her father, Ares, making Clarisse hate Percy even more.[1]

Clarisse is visible at the meeting where Percy decides between camp counselors as potential questmates.
”We Take a Zebra to Vegas”[]
Grover tells Percy and Annabeth that he thinks that Clarisse is the Lightning Thief. They then Iris Message Luke and inform him of their suspicions. They ask him to tell Chiron to arrest her, as they believe that she has committed a crime against the gods.
”The Prophecy Comes True”[]
When Percy returns to camp, she glares at him as everyone else cheers. Still believing she stole the the Master Bolt, the son of Poseidon tells Luke Castellan and Annabeth Chase they should inform Chiron, but they tell him to wait for the right time. After the son of Hermes is revealed to be the true Lightning Thief, the daughter of Ares is devoid of suspicion.

Clarisse has a strong, stocky build, with curly brown hair, dark eyes, and medium brown skin.
Personality[]
As a daughter of Ares, Clarisse is a brash, tough, arrogant demigod in pride of her abilities. She is convinced Percy is lying about slaying the Minotaur solely for kleos, and goes up against him to prove her theory correct.

- Fighting Skills: Clarisse has been trained in hand-to-hand combat during her stays at Camp Half-Blood.

Etymology[]
- Clarisse means "fame" which could be referring to Clarisse's pressure to look good for her father and her cabin.
- La Rue means "the street" in French, but alone Rue can mean "to regret" in English. Clarisse La Rue means "clear the street" giving a reference to her bold and commanding personality.
