Clarisse La Rue is a Greek demigod daughter of Ares.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters[]
At the Obstacle Tower, Clarisse and Percy Jackson face off to win. As Percy comes close, he helps a camper stuck in a latter and is taken out, allowing the daughter of Ares to claim victory. After Tyson arrives at Camp Half-Blood, she mocks both him and Percy. Soon a Colchis Bull breaks through the barrier and all the campers, including Clarisse, try to stop it. She jumps on its back but is quickly thrown off. As it tries to ram her, Tyson stops it and she is surprised to learn that the cyclops is fire proof.
When Dionysus calls for a quest to the Sea of Monsters to obtain the Golden Fleece, Clarisse is chosen and is accompanied by a satyr named Ichneutae. Percy tries to warn her about Luke Castellan, but she ignores him.
She is given a Confederate Ironclad by her father for the quest and sets sail. However Clarisse and her crew are swallowed by Charybdis as they go enter the Sea of Monsters. Eventually, they are found by Percy, Tyson, and Annabeth Chase after the three are swallowed as well and work together to escape. As they reach the surface, Clarisse orders the crew to head southwest, which according to Percy will lead them to West Palm Beach, Florida. Using his instinctive nautical location instincts, he guides them northeast to Polyphemus' Island.
When they arrive Clarisse, Annabeth, Percy, and Tyson explore the island and find a possible entrance to Polyphemus's lear in a ride. They reach a blocked portion of the tracks and get off. They find Grover Underwood, who has disguised himself as a cyclops chambermaid, serving Polyphemus/Film as he waves around the fleece demanding food. They get Grover’s attention and he explains what he has been doing the past few days and he distracts Polyphemus as the others try to get the fleece. However they are found out. The four manage to get the fleece and trap Polyphemus only to be greeted by Luke and his forces. They shoot Tyson take Clarisse and the others captive as they resurrect Kronos.
As Percy mourns Tyson, the others give him a pep talk and the son of Poseidon frees himself and the others. The daughter of Ares and the others hold back Luke's forces as Percy goes after the son of Hermes. He is aided by Tyson, who survived a was healed by the water. Kronos is resurrected and eats Luke and his forces along with Grover. However, Percy manages to defeat Kronos and all the titan's victims come out alive. As things calm down, Annabeth is mortally wounded by the Manticore and she and Grover take it out. They put the fleece on the daughter of Athena and she survives.
When they return to camp, the daughter of Ares drapes the fleece over Thalia's tree and is celebrated as a hero.

Clarisse is a teenage girl with brown hair, blue eyes, and an athletic build.
Personality[]
Clarisse is determined to claim victory and glory at any opportunity.
Abilities[]
- ADHD: Like most demigods, Clarisse possesses inborn supernatural battle reflexes and senses that she uses to analyze the fighting style of her opponent.
- Dyslexia: Her brain is "hardwired" for Ancient Greek instead of modern languages.
- Fighting Skills: Clarisse has been trained in hand-to-hand combat during her stays at Camp Half-Blood. Clarisse is able to hold her own in a fight, but cannot under think a situation before acting.
- Weapon Conjuration: As a daughter of Ares, Clarisse is able to transform any object around her into any weapon and/or tool through sheer concentration.

Etymology[]
- Clarisse means "fame" which could be referring to Clarisse's pressure to look good for her father and her cabin.
- La Rue means "the street" in French, but alone Rue can mean "to regret" in English. Clarisse La Rue means "clear the street" giving a reference to her bold and commanding personality.
