Coco Chu is the younger sister of Winston Chu.

History

Coco was born to Philip Chu, an Army translator, and an unnamed mother. She was born after her father was killed by friendly fire.

Winston Chu Versus the Whimsies

Winston plays with Coco as Philippa gets dinner ready and her mother cleans up from work. As they eat dinner, Winston asks his mother who of her three children resembles their father the most. His mother talks about traits all three children share with their father, but things start to get heated after Winston jokes about Philippa dropping out of both high school and college. Soon her mother’s old boss, Ned Gu, arrives with a banana cream pie, her father’s favorite, and her mother asks Winston to get a lamp from upstairs for him.

The next day she goes with her mother to Winston’s soccer game. After the match Winston comes home with his friends and Monroe McFee, who she attaches herself to. As Winston tries and fails to convince her to talk with Monroe, she and Monroe arrive and Monroe reveals he gave Philippa her favorite stuffed elephant that he switched out with a stuffed moose she won instead. As they talk, Coco takes a book on middle China and opens it to a page about bad luck being brought on whoever misuses a broom. Soon everyone realizes the stuffed elephant is gone and she and Philippa find the broom and dustpan. Shortly after, she is accidentally sent to Mr. Pang's Whimsies and switches bodies with Chang-Ah-Ling.

A few days later, Winston and his friends find her piloting a flying canoe over the San Francisco Bay. Mr. Pang threatens to release her spirit if Winston attempts to stop his plan. Eventually, Winston and his friends get her and, when Bijal has her, Winston tells him to hurry to his apartment. However Bijal does not think he can make it that far without Dani's umbrella and he tries to save Winston and Dani, but every one ends up in the bay. Soon they see something in the water and Winston realizes it is his fish Lucky. Lucky takes them to shore and Monroe drives them home. When they arrive, Philippa takes Coco to her room and the spirits up her back in her body.

A week later, the Chus to to Coit Tower to watch the sunset. Winston gives his mother a unicorn horn to honor his father and she tells Philippa, Winston, and Coco that they inherited their father’s loyalty, thoughtfulness, and long thumbs respectively.

Coco is a toddler of Chinese descent with dark hair and eyes.

Coco is a playful child.
