Dak-Ho and Yui grew up on the same space station, looking after one another.

As the Haetae is tasked with escorting Councilor Gwan, a member of the Dragon Council, and their apprentice Haneul. During this time, fellow cadet Juhwang Sebin is tasked with keeping an eye on the apprentice. Dak-Ho and their friend Yui joke about the situation. When the Haetae reaches Ssangyong, Dak-Ho and Yui abandon their badges and disembark without orders, stating they were assigned by Captain Chaewon to escort the Bearer of the Dragon Pearl. The pair cause a panic but are quickly caught and escorted away by Sebin and Yang Miho. Dak-Ho and Yui are soon caught and punished, losing their recreation privileges. The spend Ensign Hak's class passing notes.

When Asa-Achim explodes, they are among the survivors and develop a sense of maturity because of their experience.
