Edison was a half-demon/half-unknown who helps Ren Santiago stop Cinco.

History

Edison was born in Xib'alb'a to a demon mother and an unknown father. Due to Ixtab not wanting her demon to have offspring, his mother hid him from the queen of the underworld. When Edison was four, he found out his father was an unknown and questioned what that made him. At the age of five he named himself after Thomas Edison, as he associated the name with light and creative.

One day, a pair of demons pushed him in the pus river and he telekinetically called a canoe to him.

Eventually his mother handed him over to Ah-Puch, who placed the boy in a hotel room and had him watch television show and movies to learn how to interact with humans. The death god also taught Edison that he should not be concerned or ashamed of his heritage, but encouraged him to keep it secret for his own safety.

Lords of Night

As Ah-Puch is talking to Ren in his pocket space, Edison is introduced to Ren as her bodyguard. Edison greets Ren kindly and talks like one of the characters in the shows and movies he has seen, albeit not completely understanding what he is saying. Ren reluctantly accepts him as her bodyguard and they head to SHIHOM. In the morning, Edison scouts out the parameter of the training arena when Ah-Puch and Ren arrive and the god tells Ren she and Edison will be fighting. Ren takes a fighting stance and forms a shadow dragon to attack him, but Edison draws energy from his surroundings and forms a barrier that deflects her attack. Ren switches tactics and uses the time rope, but that fails as well, shocking Ren. However an arrow comes out of nowhere and penetrates the barrier before heading for Ah-Puch's chest. Ren and Edison run over to stop the arrow. However, Ah-Puch snatches it out of the air and introduces Ren and Edison to Montero, a member of a family of Aztec hunters. Montero, who goes by Monty, explains how her powers and arrows work, as well as the limits and risks she has on her if she fails the quest or reveals her name. Monty explains how she penetrated his barrier because he was unaware of her as he thinks of ways to be prepared for all possibilities. Edison then demonstrates his offensive capabilities by firing a concussive blast at a nearby tree and explains how his magic works. After Ah-Puch says they need to know where the third lord will awaken when Ren suggests Hollywood. Ah-Puch says they cannot afford to go on guesses when Ren suggests they can use Monty's magic to track down the Cinco by the belongings they left before. The four go to Serena's tree house and find it locked. Ren, Ah-Puch, and Edison fail to open it before realizing that Monty's magic Aztec arrows could unlock it. The girl succeeds and they enter. Monty finds Serena’s shirt and works her magic before collapsing with a fever. Ren catches Monty and says she should not be part of the quest when Monty says it is her magic working and says Serena is in Hollywood. Ah-Puch tells the others to go as he has will try to figure out how to stop the rest of the lords from waking. As they walk to the gateway, Ren explains that they have to three-hour layover in Boring, Oregon as Edison stops a monkey from jumping on Monty. They arrive in Boring and have lunch at a pizza parlor and talk about the Cinco's strengths and why they might have defected. Monty theorizes Serena might have other motives for defecting. After taking the gateway, the three end up in a changing room of a women’s clothing store in Central City. Edison teleports away and the girls exit the dressing room. After waiting for the girls by the shoe section, he runs into them after Ren encounters Tezcatlipoca. Ren explains everything to them as she calls a ride share and they drive down Sunset Boulevard. After explaining everything, Edison and Monty theorizes the lords are unaware of them and they have the element of surprise. Edison also theorizes that the astral traveler might be more of a threat then the lords due to Monty’s arrows glowing for her and not the lord, something they only do for danger. After Ren mentions the trap, Edison says it is only a trap if they are unaware of it. The driver lets them out as Monty insists she go on alone to track Serena. Ren reluctantly agrees and watches Monty vanish into the crowd as she sees a costume shop and gets disguises for herself and Edison. After ren and Edison buy a blond wig and fake mustache respectively, Edison talks about his life in Xib'alb'a and how his magic works. Ren also talks about her dreams of becoming an astronaut. As the two hide their blushing faces from each other, Monty calls and says she found Serena outside a museum. The two find Monty hiding behind a car and join her. Ren sees Serena along with two other members of the Cinco, Kenji, son of the Mayan bee god Ah-Muzen-Cab, and Diamante, daughter of the Mayan wine god Akan. Edison sees a demon in disguise with the three and says he can sniff him out. Monty says she can paralyze and knock out the demon, but it will give away their position. Ren tells Edison to leave but stay close and Monty lends him her cellphone. Edison sneaks away and Serena creates an illusion around the museum. He senses something happened to Monty and runs into Ren outside the museum. museum. They track Monty to an alleyway and Ren rushes heer Edison tries to stop her. The two are trapped in a net three yards in the air as Serena, Ezra, and Kenji come forward with an unconscious Monty. Serena says they are leaving with Monty and Ren and Edison will not follow. Ren agrees but Edison, speaking in an authoritarian tone, says they have to minutes to hand over Monty and leave before he attacks and Ren tries to get him to back off, fearing for Monty's safety. He counts down as Ren tries to reason with Serena. As Ezra threatens to curse Monty, Ren manages to encase the unconscious girl in shadows as Edison breaks free of the net and attacks the Cinco. Ren runs towards Ezra when the demon from earlier blocks her. Ren encases him in shadows as well and uses the time rope to kill him. As Ren runs after Ezra, Kenji unleashes countless bees from his mouth that attack Ren and her friends. Edison holds them off as his skin rips open from the stings to reveal a diseased complexion underneath. Edison guard Ren and Monty until Marco and Ah-Puch show up to take the girls to a safe house near Lake Tahoe and watches over Ren for eight hours. Shortly after Ren wakes up, he and Monty enter the room and Monty explains that she failed as Ezra broke one of her arrows and the rest will be out for her blood. As Ah-Puch asks Ren how she survived, Ren stalls until she demands Ah-Puch tells her about the symbol. Just then Marco, who left to change into clean clothes, returns and asks what is going on. Ren tells him Ah-Puch was about to talk about the symbol as Ah-Puch says Ren is going to talk about what happened to her while she was unconscious. The two stare each other down as Ah-Puch gives in and tells them about the Time War, but not before giving them a final warning to back off or live a life of even more danger. Ah-Puch summons Saás, the all knowing orb from SHIHOM, to explain it for him. She is reluctant at first, but Ren convinces her to tell it after explaining they are facing the Lords of Night and they could replace her with another model. Saás agrees to do so after scanning one of Monty’s arrows. She says the war involved the Mayan gods fighting an enemy older then them. Saás explains that the god defeated the enemy, who they called the unknowns, and kept a handfuls alive in prison while killing the others. Eventually the gods released them for help in creating humanity. Soon they were allied, but the alliance came to an end after learning that the unknowns were interbreeding with demons, with the resulting offspring being able to overthrow the gods. Ren asks how they are linked to the lords and Saás says the unknowns put the lords to sleep, but cannot answer why Serena knows how to wake them. After the unknowns fled but returned to check on their descendants. Monty reveals her parents told her about the lords and gives vague information on them. Ren asks about their queen, but Saás says the lord have none. Saás says the only way to put the lords back to sleep is with the obsidian blade. Ah-Puch claims to does not exist as Edison reveals it does and he knows where it is, The Dark Mercado. He explains that The Dark Mercado is a shady marketplace where, to get out alive, one must give up something valued in return. He also says that to get there, one must pass through the Maze of Nightmares, a maze designed to trap those init for eternity. As Edison explains everything, Ah-Puch becomes fearful. Marco is skeptical of the idea while Ren and Monty think it is worth a shot. Ah-Puch is against it and says the maze shifts every new moon before revealing he created the maze and the market. Ah-Puch explains he created the market place to gain power, but it grew out of hand and he created the maze to contain it. After Ah-Puch says he cannot destroy the maze in his current state, he reveals their only option is to fight the Cinco and the lords, something only Marco agrees with. As Ren protests that they can find an alternative, Ah-Puch demands she tell them what happened when she was out cold. They go outside and Ren reveals she made a deal with the Prince Lord to become the lord's queen if he saves Monty. Ah-Puch scolds Ren for giving the lords what they want and, in a state of panic, Ren unleashes her shadows and is unable to recall them. As Monty’s arrives glow, Edison uses his magic to calm Ren's. Ah-Puch asks Ren to speak with him alone and he and the others go back inside. Ren and Ah-Puch return to the safe house and explain everything to the others and how Ren agreed to be the Lord's queen and the only way to stop them is to find the Obsidian Blade. Edison and Monty agree to join her, but Marco jumps ship. Ah-Puch takes them to the Actun Tunichil Muknal cave system in Belize where they are greeted by the remains of the Crystal Prince. Ah-Puch reveals he cannot go with them as his presence would cause the maze to collapse and gives them complicated instructions. Ah-Puch instructs all but the Crystal Prince to speak or touch anything as they will lose a voice or body part if they do. He also tells them the maze will mess with their minds and instructs them to not follow their instincts. Once they reach the market, they are not to use any magic as the will be sent to Xib'alb'a, and the blade will call out to one of them and demand an unknown price. Everyone accepts the terms and Edison and Monty follow the Crystal Prince into the maze as Ren joins them momentarily. The Crystal Prince leads the three to a staircase leading to the maze and informs the three they must not talk until their feet touch all one hundred steps. The prince vanishes after saying no one has exited the maze in the last century and the three descend. After the three reach the bottom, Ren tests to see if it is safe to take and finds it is safe. Monty complains about a foul smell as Edison senses strong magic coming from the maze. Monty wants everyone to swear to watch out for the others but put the quest first. Ren and Edison cannot bring themselves to do so and they enter the maze. They find themselves in front of a pyramid of mirrors sitting on a lake as Edison reveals it is made of a rare substance from Xib'alb'a. They find a boat and paddle. Edison says he cannot use his magic as the energy surrounding them will have catastrophic results if he uses it. As they pass by the pyramid, Edison says the mirrors will show their most likely future. He and Ren see Ren wearing a crown and stabbing him and looks at Ren with fear. Monty spots a passage and they go through it. Ren looks at another mirror, but looks away as her necklace heats up and Pacific appears. The goddess says the Time Rope called to her and she reclaimed it temporarily to learn what her daughter has been up to. Pacific reveals she cannot intervene to a greater extent or destroy the maze, but tells Ren that the maze feeds gets angry if people take too long to decide and to give the maze what it wants. Pacific returns the Time Rope and leaves. After a few seconds of cursing her mother, Ren realizes what she means and has Edison use his magic and Monty fire all her arrows. The others realize what she means and they overload the maze. Eventually they destroy it and Edison creates a barrier. Once the maze collapses, the girls realize Edison is gone and a door appears that is quickly vanishing. Ren finds and him unconscious and grabs him as Monty helps. He and Monty make it out as Ren is trapped, but soon appears unconscious before them. Ren wakes up and he cleans Ren's injuries with a handkerchief and they realize they are at the market. Ren says they have an hour to find the blade and to follow the gold arrows to get out. They split up after promising not to use magic. After Ren unintentionally uses magic, he searches for the exit as Monty activated her power boosting ability and saves Ren, who revealed she has the blade and the girls meet up with Edison, who shields the three of them, and they find a gold arrow. However a shadow bird appears soon after. The bird flies around but, as Edison is about to scan it’s magic, he falls asleep. The bird calls him rude and, after introducing herself as Zyanya, she tells Ren to wake Edison by placing the blade on his left and right eyes in that order. After Edison wakes up, he says Zyanya has an ancient magic and Zyanya is pleased with her response. Zyanya explains that she is the source of the blade's power and can put anyone to sleep instantly, but they must be awakened five minutes later to they will sleep for the rest of their lives and she needs a ten minute recharge after every use. The teens are uncertain about the recharge period as they worry what the enemy can do in that time and theorize they could put a lord to sleep a day. They call Ah-Puch for a pickup as Ren says they are in White Sands, New Mexico. After returning to the safe house, he and Monty clean up as Ren and Ah-Puch talk. Monty tracks the Cinco to Lake Zirahuén in Southern Mexico and they search for their hideout. They eventually find a stone building surrounded by the gate. Ren says they should split up with Edison and Monty taking out any guards as Ah-Puch acts as lookout. Just then, Marco arrives with his father and the war god says there are demons on the property along with bees, enemy godborns, and the Lords. Marco agrees to take out the demons as Ren creates shadow butterflies to handle the bees. During the fighting, he struggles to put up a barrier as Kenji's bees sting him and expose his blue skin. Edison is eventually vaporized as a result of the stings. Unbeknownst to everyone, he let himself die in order to find Ren.

Dawn of the Jaguar

A month after dying, he reunites with Ren by a membrane covered portion to Ah-Puch's safe house and explains his plan to help her and ability to resurrect himself in Xib'alb'a. After explaining that he had no guarantee of his plan working, Ren chastises him for being reckless. After telling her that it has been a month since her death and he mailed a letter to her abuelo saying she was on a special mission. As Ren continues to try to get Ah-Puch's attention, Edison tells her that the god has changed since her death. Soon, Ah-Puch notices her and pulls Ren through. He manages to find his way to Ren and Ah-Puch and tries to get Ah-Puch to remember them. However much like with Ren, Ah-Puch does not remember him. Soon the two pieces of the Time Rope wrap themselves around Ren's wrists and she, Ah-Puch, and Edison are transported to the Old World. Ah-Puch demands she release him as the teenagers try to jog the death god's memory. The three then hear pounding in the distance and realize Saqik'oxol is near. When Ah-Puch refuses to listen to them, Ren decides to communicate telepathically and thinks of something of the times they spent together. It works and Ah-Puch remembers them. Soon, Saqik'oxol arrives and says they can get down to business. After Ah-Puch and Saqik'oxol briefly bicker, the Sparkstricker informs the three that in the past month the Cinco and Marco have been taking prisoner by the Lords and that Zyanya and the Obsidian Blade have vanished. As Ren lists the members of the Cinco, she realizes Ezra tricked her into giving into the darkness and Ah-Puch threatens to kill the five if they are not dead already. Ren tries to talk him out of revenge to no avail. Afterwards, Saqik'oxol shows the three the moment of Ren's death, disturbing the three. He asks the Sparkstriker if it is necessary for Ren to see her own death, to which she say it is. Upon seeing Ah-Puch's reaction. Ren realizes his forgetting her was trauma after witnessing the event, something Edison agrees with. Ah-Puch denies this and asks Ren how Ixtab could have let her out of Xib'alb'a. Ren reluctantly reveals that she and Ixtab made a deal where the goddess would restore her to life if Ren delivered the Jade and Shadow Crown to her in seven days. Upon hearing this, Ah-Puch becomes angry and reveals it is impossible as the crown was destroyed, shocking him and Ren. Ren is in a state of shock as everyone tries to calm her down. She asks Ah-Puch if he saw things correctly and he says the crown is currently split in two. This gives Ren hope as she can still present the crown to Ixtab, never promising to bring it back in one piece. Edison agrees to help her and, after a moment, Ah-Puch does as well. Ren then asks Saqik'oxol where Marco and the Cinco are being held, as well as the location of the Obsidian blade. The Sparkstriker says she has something better and starts pounding the nearby pyramid. As she does so, Ren hears Marco's voice, something none of the others do. Soon, the time rope detaches itself from Ren and Ah-Puch before slithering away. Ren tries to go after it, but Saqik'oxol stops her, saying it is on its own journey. Ren vanishes and he and Ah-Puch are brought to Pacific's sanctuary. They wait by the coastline with the god telling him not to trust Pacific. When the two are joined by Pacific and Ren, they sit at a table as Ren catches the two up. Upon learning that Ren has jaguar magic, Ah-Puch is furious and Pacific forces him swear to secrecy while Edison is fascinated by Ren's jaguar ears. After things get tense between the gods, Ren and Edison try to ease the tension. After Ah-Puch demands the Time Rope back, Ren is confused as to why it did not return to him. Pacific explains that the Time Rope was corrupted by Ah-Puch's presence and reformed itself, allowing it to choose a new owner, Pacific. The goddess gives her daughter a strand of the Time Rope, saying it will freeze time for a few minutes at most. Soon, Ren asks to return to the Mirror of the Gods. When the three return to Lake Zirahuén, Ren and Edison feel strange returning to the place where they died. Edison goes to search the south shore of the lake for the Obsidian Blade and Ah-Puch announces he will look for the two halves of the crown as she looks for Marco. Ren is upset, but sees dividing the tasks as their best option. When he is looking, Ren locates the blade and runs into Chalchihtlicue. The goddess unleashes countless dragonflies to attack Ren, Monty- who camped out at the lake since Ren's death, and Eréndira- a mermaid trapped in the lake by the Aztec gods. He is attacked as well and puts up a barrier to protect himself from the insects. Soon Ren freezes time, grabs the blade, and frees the mermaid. During this time, Ren is forced to agree to marry the Prince Lord to save both the imprisoned godborns and her friends. When time starts up again, Ren regroups with her friends and shows them the blade. Edison heals their injuries and they confirm that Zyanya is not in the blade. Eréndira, now with legs, cries up a portal to a safe haven and they jump in. The four end up in a pool on a cruise ship near the island of Capri in Italy and Eréndira apologizes, saying her magic mixed up the locations. Once they get out of the, the others realize Ren is hiding something from them and she shows them the vial Jade is Her Skirt gave her. Monty recognizes it as someone that can take her to where the Lords want Ren to be and she thinks they can use it to save Marco. However, the others feel it could be a trap and decide to rest before planning their next steps. Eréndira jumps overboard after senses other mermaids and thanks the others for saving her. After the three have dinner at a burger buffet, they sleep in lounge chairs. He hears Ren utter his name and he wakes her. Edison presses her for details as Ren reveals she agreed to marry the Prince Lord, something Edison chastises her for. While Ren thinks she just has to play along until she can put him to sleep, Edison reveals that magic marriages are eternal and the spouses must always stay by each other’s side; as well as reminding her they do not have Zyanya to take out the Lords. Ren questions where the bird might be as they notice the sky lighting up before sunrise. Ren realizes the Prince Lord is coming and she freezes time, however it does not stop the Lord and Ah-Puch arrives shortly after. When time starts up again he sees the gods fight as Ren thinks of a way to stop the fighting. She sees Monty and tells the girl to shoot Ah-Puch, surprising both Monty and Edison. After Ren offers to take the blame, Monty fires an arrow into Ah-Puch's neck, incapacitating the god. As Ah-Puch looks at Ren, she apologizes to him before using the vial to open a portal to a staircase. Ren, Monty and Edison step through before it closes. The three make their way up the staircase and they reach a river. They are guided towards a raft captained by a woman named Zulema. The three get on and set sail. Zulema explains that they are in the original Xochimilco, an island chain that dotted the former Aztec capital that now links to Mexico City. As they sail, Monty and Edison share their knowledge of the realm, making Ren feel somewhat left out. Ren expresses her fear that Ah-Puch will not forgive her, but her companions reassure her the god will forgive her. Ren becomes shocked when Zulema states that her wedding is the following day. Soon feathers housing the souls of warriors swarm Monty and she states she can hear them. She reveals they are telling her, but he and Ren feel Monty is holding something back. Once the dock, Monty tells her companions that they only have one chance to escape during a blood moon the following day or they will be trapped forever. As they walk, Ren, Monty, and Edison think of ways to pull off their plan and escape within twenty-four hours. Ren volunteers to locate Marco as she assigns Monty to ask the feathers on how to best escape and has Edison gather as much intelligence as he can on the Lord's plan. As they talk, Zulema asks Ren about her preferences for the wedding feast. They pass through a chamber with murals of the Lords and Zulema reveals that, after the wedding, the rest of the Lords will be awakened. Ren and the others are surprised by this but stay silent. Zulema drops him and Monty off at their rooms before escorting Ren to hers. He confirms that the Lords truly are planning to create a new pantheon and that the crown greats great power to whoever breaks it, something only a god could do. As Ren is getting ready for her wedding, he goes to her and tells her what he has learned. They theorize that one of the Lords is a traitor as Edison falls down in pain. His skin splits open and he vanishes. After the wedding ceremony is over, he is brought to the chamber in chains. A blade materializes in front of him and Ren realizes this is the vision she saw of herself killing Edison in the Maze of Nightmares, something he has seen as well. The Lords watch in amusement as Ren panics and begs as she desperately tries to stop herself from taking hold of the blade. As she grasps the weapon and is about to deliver a fatal blow, her hand starts to glow, shocking the Lords. Soon Monty and the godborns arrive and attack the Lords. In the chaos, Edison is freed as Jade is Her Skirt and Smoking Mirror are incapacitated. When Ren sees the Lords will soon have the upper hand, she rips the thread from her ankle. Ezra manages to trap the gods for a few minutes as Marco tells everyone to retreat. They do, but Ren stays behind to help Edison. The Lords soon break free, causing rocks to block the only exit. However, Ren uses the thread to freeze the Lords in place and Edison teleports them out. They end up at the palace docks, where Zulema is waiting for them, and they speed down the canals to meet up with the others. Monty uses the feathers to open a gateway to Devils Tower. Zulema, Edison and the godborns jump in, but Ren stays to have the crown come to her as the Lords come after them while Monty stays behind to help Ren. The group reaches Devils Tower, which Serena disguises as an abandoned circus, and they make a plan. They plan to have Marco masquerade as Ren and present the Lords with a fake crown created by Serena and Diamante. Marco will then lure the Lords to the tent where Ezra traps them and Zyanya put them to sleep. Soon Ren, Monty, and Zyanya arrive. As the others eat, he feeds his power to Zyanya. Impressed, Zyanya feels like she could place all the Lords in slumber at once before flying away. Once she does, Edison addresses Ren. Confused, the daughter of Pacific remembers K'iin said only gods and Unknowns could see her, making her realize that Edison's father is an Unknown. He reveals that he already knows and explains the group is at Devils Tower with Serena creating an illusion to confuse the Lords. He informs Ren of their plan and she tells Edison that the Lords know about it and, when Serena and Marco arrive, he tells them about the two Rens and relies her message to them. They say they do not have time to create a new plan as learn Ren's physical body is having a blackout and Monty will guard her. The Lords arrive early and the group puts their plan into motion. As Soon as the Lords arrive, Marco, disguised as Ren, presents the crown. However Ren realizes the Lords are fake. The Lords reveal themselves to be mirrors and take Marco, Monty, Diamante, Serena, and Kenji hostage just as Zyanya attempts to put the Lords to sleep. The hostages take the blow, knocking them out and the Lords imprison the five in the mirrors before stepping out. Zyanya flies away as the illusion shatters and the Lords search for the remaining adversaries. Ren, having returned to her body, remembers Zyanya telling her that the magic becomes nearly irreversible after five minutes and thinks of ways to save the others with Ezra and Edison. Remembering the Time Thread, Edison suggests the girls combine their magic to keep this moment captive to buy them more time. Realizing the Prince Lord broke the crown, Ren thinks of ways to trick him into confessing. Ezra enchants one of her earrings and gives it to Ren telling her it will broadcast it to the Lords. Edison is seen and buys time as the girls cast the spell, leaving only Ren, Ezra, and the Prince Lord free. Soon the spell wears off and the Lords leave to confront the Prince.Lord and demand the crown from Ren. After the Lords reveal their have Zyanya hostage, Ren unleashes her jaguar magic, freeing Zyanya knocks down the Lords. As they get to their feet, they attack Ren, he attacks from behind and they combine their magic to take on the Lords. Soon Ezra, Marco, Monty, Diamante, Serena, and Kenji arrive and Ren instructs everyone to combine their magic. Once they do, the Lords start to struggle, but Zyanya cannot get close. Seeing this, Ren transforms into a jaguar and grabs Zyanya, circling the Lords. He channels the other’s magic and strikes the Lords. The Lords fuse into a single shadow before being drawn into a suitcase. Ah-Puch and Ixtab appear and Edison hides from the goddess. After the gods leave, everyone is sitting around a fire, the members of the Cinco apologize to Ren one by one, with Serena being forced to, as Ren accepts their apologies. Ren takes out the Obsidian Blade and tells the others of her intention to free Zyanya. While they are hesitant, Monty notices an arrow and the others follow suit. They destroy the blade and Zyanya transforms into a blue jay and flies off, happy to be free. The others head home and Ren tries to talk to Edison about his heritage, but he vanishes. The following week, he goes to the Shaman Institute of Higher-Order Magic to reunite with most of his companions. He finds Ren and they talk. While Ren is still curious about his heritage, she decides to let him tell her if he is ready. Edison informs Ren that only she and Ah-Puch know about that part of him as Ren promises not to pry. They watch the sunset and, when it is time, race to the bonfire.

Edison is a fourteen-year-old boy with dark messy hair, dark, eyes, and a tannish complexion. In his demon form, Edison possesses blue skin and fangs.

Edison is friendly and helpful. He is willing to do anything to protect his friends.

Abilities

• Mystiokinesis: Edison was capable of using magic. However, he needs to understand his surroundings to utilize his magic.
  • Ergokinesis: Edison was capable of drawing energy from sources such as light and heat, and even emotions such as fear, to perform magic.
  • Magic Blocking: Edison could bock his opponent's magic by forming barriers. However he can only block attacks he is aware of.
  • Concussive Blasts: Edison could fire concussive blasts.
  • Teleportation: Edison could teleport.
  • Telekinesis: Edison could move objects with his mind.
  • Aerokinesis: Edison could control wind, as he used this ability to lift Kenji when saving Monty.
  • Energy Feeding: Edison can use other's energy to heal and rejuvenate them. However, if their reserves are low, he has to tap into his own.
• Vitakinesis: Due to his demonic heritage, Edison healed quickly.
• Resurrection: As a half-demon, Edison can resurrect himself by to Xib'alb'a when he dies. However, this ability has a usage limit and he is unsure how many times he can use it.

Edison was raised in secret by his mother, as she feared what would happen if Ixtab discovered him. In return, Edison respected his mother and understood her actions.

Ren Santiago, his friend and potential crush.

Upon meeting, Edison was polite with Ren and understanding of the daughter of Pacific's discomfort about having a bodyguard. During their time stopping the Cinco from awakening the Lords of Night, the two grew close to each other. He would take risks when ensuring Ren's safety, much to her concern.

After Ixtab agrees to let Ren return to the Land of the Living in exchange for finding the Jade and Shadow Crown, the two reunite and he joins her. Shortly before Ren plans to marry the Prince Lord, he visits Ren and tells her everything he learned about the crown. During the conversation, they have awkward silence before he doubles over in pain and vanishing. After the Lords believe Ren and the Prince Lord are married, he is brought in as a sacrifice and Ren is forced to kill him. However, their companions arrive and stop them. After Ren finds the crown and is separated from her body, he is able to see her due to his unknown heritage. When the Lords arrive, they combine their magic and, with the help of their allies, put the Lords in a state of slumber. He vanishes when Ixtab arrives.

A week later, he meets up with Ren at the Shaman Institute of Higher-Order Magic and they talk. She agrees to keep his unknown heritage a secret and they playfully race to the bonfire.

Monty, Edison's friend.

Edison is close with Monty, working well with the hunter during quests. The two would also watch out for one another’s wellbeing. When the hunter was used as leverage by the Cinco and threatened with transmutation, Edison rescued Monty without hesitation.

While the two boys are not as close as they are to their other companions, Edison and the son of Nakon are able to work together if need be. During the Battle of Lake Zirahuén, they both worked together to try and stop the Cinco from awakening the Lords of Night. When arriving at Devils Tower, Edison agreed to aid Marco in his plan to stop the Lords of Night.
