A Protector is a Satyr who is assigned to scout for potential half-bloods and, if their suspicions are confirmed, bring any newly discovered demigod they find to Camp Half-Blood.
Description[]
Protectors go undercover in schools as either students or teachers to keep a lookout for potential demigods. When they have confirmed their suspicions, they take the demigods to Camp Half-Blood. In some cases they call for backup in the form of Chiron or more experienced campers.
For a satyr to qualify for a searcher’s license, they must first safely deliver a half-blood to camp and cross the borderline themselves, along with every demigod they brought with them.
In rare cases, the protector is in contact with the half-blood’s mortal parent or legal guardians.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians[]
The Lightning Thief[]
Grover Underwood successfully brings Percy Jackson to camp, however he was unconscious when Percy dragged him over the boundary line. During their quest to find the master bolt Grover tells the son of Poseidon of the time he brought Luke Castellan, Annabeth Chase, and Thalia Grace to camp. He tells him how the daughter of Zeus sacrificed herself to save him, Annabeth, and Luke.
The Titan's Curse[]
Grover calls Percy, Annabeth and Thalia to Westover Hall in Bar Harbor, Maine to help him escort two newly discovered half-bloods, Nico and Bianca di Angelo, to camp. After meeting up with the Hunters of Artemis and losing Annabeth to the enemy, the goddess of the hunt calls her brother to bring Grover, Percy, Thalia, Nico, and her hunters to camp. They all arrive safely.

The Lost Hero[]
Gleeson Hedge, as an undercover gym teacher at Wilderness School, finds demigods Piper McLean and Leo Valdez. On the day he arranged for them to be picked up, he also finds Jason Grace.
