Flåm is a village in the county of Sogn og Fjordane in Southern Norway, located at the inner end of the Aurlandsfjord fjord. It is the birthplace of Halfborn Gunderson.

Very little is known of Flåm's early history, except that it was the birthplace of Halfborn Gunderson and was called by a different name when he lived there. It's current name was recorded as early as the 1340's and was written as Flaam, derived from the Old Norse word Fla, meaning "plain, flat piece of land."

Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard

The Ship of the Dead

The crew of the Big Banana make harbor in Flåm, having to avoid a cruise ship full of tourists. Halfborn remembers the town when he was younger, when it had a different name and how he left when he was twelve and how he promised his mother he would return when he was famous. The crew split up and Magnus, Samirah and Mallory board the train in search of the mead.

Later, Halfborn kills a giant on the beach as the giant had insulted Flåm. There was minor damage to the town, with a house being moved from the beach front right onto the beach itself.
