Gabriel "Gabe" Ugliano is a minor character in the Percy Jackson film series. He is the abusive husband of Sally Jackson and the stepfather of Percy Jackson.

History

At one point, Gabe met Sally and, despite his demeanor, the two married. Gabe would constantly abuse both his wife and stepson and spend all his family’s money on alcohol and poker.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

Gabe returns home and rudely greets Sally, demanding a beer. When Sally goes to get it, Gabe slaps her buttocks, disgusting Percy with his behavior. Percy demands that Gabe show his mom some respect, but Gabe boxes Percy in and tells him that this is his house and Percy needs to show Gabe some respect. As Gabe walks away, Percy furiously asks why Sally stay with a pig like Gabe who smells like a sewer, sleeps until noon every day and can't hold a job. Sally just tells her son that Gabe has been good to them in ways that he doesn't understand.

After encountering Alecto, Percy returns home with Grover to warn Sally as Gabe is in the middle of one of his poker parties. Gabe tells Percy that Sally is in the middle of servicing him and his friends and Percy furiously stands up to his stepfather, calling him a bald-headed freak. Gabe shoves Percy up against the wall, but Grover hits him in the foot and crotch with one of his crutches, taking Gabe down. Percy, Sally and Grover depart while Gabe is still recovering.

Five days later, Percy, Annabeth and Grover watch a news report on Percy and Sally's disappearance. Gabe is interviewed by a reporter and makes it clear that Percy's his stepson, not his son. Gabe accuses Percy of being a drug addict and an alcoholic who kidnapped Sally after knocking Gabe out. As Gabe insists that Sally would never willingly leave him, Percy furiously turns the TV off.

After returning from the Underworld, Sally promises Percy that she's going to get rid of Gabe.

Gabe returns home where Sally has changed the locks and packed up Gabe's belongings. Sally simply tells Gabe that here's his junk and Gabe can let himself out, refusing to help Gabe move all of his junk. Going to get a beer, Gabe finds the refrigerator locked and a note from Percy reading "do not open this refrigerator under any condition! EVER! No matter what!!" Declaring that he's still the king of this castle even if he no longer lives here, Gabe breaks the lock on the refrigerator and opens it. Inside, Medusa's Head attacks and turns Gabe to stone.

Gabe is a mostly bald middle aged Caucasian man of Italian descent with a short gray beard.

Personality

Gabe is rude and disrespectful to everyone around him. He is also incredibly lazy, to the point at not having a job and sleeping until around noon on a daily basis.

Relationships

Sally Jackson

Gabe is demanding of Sally and shows little respect for his wife. After her presumed death, Gabe pretends to care about her to garner sympathy from the public. After Sally kicks him out, Gabe is surprised at her behavior.

Percy Jackson

Gabe is abusive towards his stepson, often asserting dominance when Percy tries to stand up for himself and his mother. After Sally goes missing, Gabe slanders Percy on the news, calling him a drug addict.

Trivia

• The film implies that Gabe possibly holds conservative political views, given that he is interviewed by Fox News when Sally is declared dead.
