Trivia[]
- The orange color of the bridge was originally intended as the primer. The United States Navy wanted to paint the bridge blue with yellow stripes to make it more visible. However the consulting architect thought it was easier to see as red.
- Prior the the construction of the bridge, ferries were used to take people across the bay from San Francisco to Marin county and back.
