Hugin and Munin (ON: “thought” and “memory”) are two ravens who accompany the god Odin. They are sent out by Odin every morning to fly around the world and return by breakfast the next day, whereupon they sit atop his shoulders and whisper into his ears, telling him of all that has transpired on Midgard.

The Sword of Summer[]
Hugin and Munin are seen by Magnus Chase sitting on Odin’s throne during meals in the feast hall.
Trivia[]
- In the aftermath of battles, they feast on the corpses of those who were slain; this is meant to be seen as a sacrifice to Odin, who, through the swaying of his magic, decides who lives and who dies.
