The Intertribal Community Charter School is a charter school in Albuquerque, New Mexico where the staff and students are all Native American.

Race to the Sun[]

Nizhoni Begay and her friend Davery attend the school after transferring in two years before the start of the book. Davery also founded the school ancestors club and serves as president.

Nizhoni first noticed Mr. Charles, a Bináá' yee aghání who was her father's new boss at the Landrush Oil and Gas, in the bleachers at her basketball game. The following day, she sneaks out of school to retrieve her lunch and rushes back to get Mac when Mr. Charles kidnaps the Begay sibling's father. She finds Mac cornered by Adrien Cuttlebush and his cronies on the baseball diamond and tries and fails to stop them. However Mac uses his ancestral powers to pelt their tormentors will water from the sprinklers and they run off.
