Jacob Allen "Jake" Abel (born November 18, 1987) is an American actor who was born in Canton, Ohio.

He played Luke Castellan in The Lightning Thief and reprised his role in the film adaptation of Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters.

Biography[]

Abel[1] was born on November 18, 1987, to Kim and Mike Abel, in Canton, Ohio. When he began acting, he became home schooled by his mother. In his late teenage years, Jake first made his acting debut in the Disney movie Go Figure as Spencer, a hockey coach. The same year, he appeared in three episodes of the science fiction sitcom Threshold, as a young man gone evil. He was recently married to Allie Wood, a fashion blogger.

Career[]

In 2012, Jake Abel was chosen to play Ian O'Shea in the 2013 film adaptation of The Host, by Stephenie Meyer. He is known for playing Adam Milligan and the archangel Michael in the TV series Supernatural. He happened to be in the movie adaptation of I Am Number Four. He returned in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters playing Luke Castellan, as he previously did in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thiefwhich is based on the novel of the same name. The movie was released on August 7, 2013.

For his role of Luke Castellan in The Lightning Thief, he was nominated for MTV Movie Award and Teen Choice Award for Best Fight Scene.
