Julian Ramírez-Arellano was the lover of Bellona and father of Hylla and Reyna Ramírez-Arellano. Up until the birth of his eldest daughter, Julian was a former soldier who served in Iraq. He suffered from post traumatic stress disorder and eventually madness took over and he was killed by his younger daughter.

Birth of Daughters and Injuries in Battle[]
Julian met Bellona, the Roman goddess of war before he went to Iraq, their relationship resulted in the birth of Hylla. While he was there, he was embedded with shrapnel from a roadside bomb.
When he got back, he met the war goddess again, the two had Reyna.
Losing his Sanity and Death[]
Over the years he started to become paranoid. He would lock his daughters in their rooms at night to protect them from enemies. Overtime, he became more and more convinced he was under constant danger and eventually thought his daughters were trying to harm him.
This resulted in Julian became a mania, a spirit of personifying insanity, madness, and crazed frenzy. He attacked Hylla, knocking her unconsciousness. Reyna took a sword and killed what was left of him. The two fled San Juan, Puerto Rico soon after.

When Hylla was born, he was caring. After he returned from Iraq, he suffered from post traumatic stress disorder. He would lock his daughters in their rooms at night to protect them before thinking they were his enemies.

At some point before Julian went to Iraq, where he met Bellona and a bond of love grew between them, which resulted in Hylla's birth. During the time Julian at Iraq, he was embedded with shrapnel due to a roadside bomb. When he got back from Iraq, he met Bellona again, when the two had Reyna. After Reyna was born, he became paranoid and would lock his daughters in their room to make sure they were safe, until he started thinking they were his enemies. Eventually, he became more and more paranoid which resulted in Julian's becoming a mania. At one point, as mentioned by Reyna in The Blood of Olympus, he threw a chair at his elder daughter Hylla. This angered Reyna and she grabbed her ancestor Pirate Confresí's Imperial Gold dagger and thrust it at her father which resulted in Julian's death, even though Reyna feels the guilt of the incident (as described by her in The Blood of Olympus). It is not clear whether Julian and Bellona met again between Reyna's birth and Julian's death.
