Karmanor was a minor harvest deity, living in the city of Tarrha on the island of Crete. According to Cretan tradition, he was the consort of Demeter, goddess of agriculture, with whom he had two children - Eubouleus, the patron god of ploughing, and Chrysothemis.
He was said to have received and purified the god Apollo after he had slain the she-dragon Python, and it was in his house that Apollo lay with the nymph Akakallis.
