Lechuza are bird-like shapeshifting witches from Mexican folklore.
Legend[]
Lechuza was a witch who was caught practicing magic by the residents of her town and was killed. To exact revenge, she returned from the grave as a large owl, larger then an average owl and with a human face who comes out at night and kills those who wronged her.
Description[]
Lechuza is a woman with wings and a skeletal body.
Paola Santiago series[]
Paola Santiago and the River of Tears[]
Paola Santiago sees a trio of Lechuza as Ondina brings her, Dante Mata, and Bruto to holding cells. Later when Pao escapes, she releases them from their cell to distract Ondina she and Bruto move up a level.
