The Longfellow Bridge crosses the Charles River to connect Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood with the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The bridge carries approximately 28,600 cars every weekday.

Magnus and Randolph Chase arrive at the bridge to retrieve Sumarbrander. After Magnus retrieves the Sword, Surt attacks the bridge in an attempt to kill Magnus. Magnus manages to put up a good fight, but dies in the end.
