The Minotaur is a bull-human hybrid monster. He was used to slaughter sacrificial victims from Athens before being slain by Theseus.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

As Percy Jackson is being taken to Camp Half-Blood by Sally Jackson and Grover Underwood, the three are attacked by the Minotaur and thrown off the road. The three escaped from the wreckage and made their way to camp. However, as Sally was human, she could not enter. The Minotaur grabbed her and appeared to have killed her. In response, Percy draws his sword and attacks the Minotaur,ripping off one of his horns and killing him.

Personality

The Minotaur is a brutal, relentless hunter with a taste for human flesh. He has fully accepted his animalistic, monstrous nature, but the fact that he wears underpants suggests that he has just enough humanity to be ashamed by his nakedness.

Abilities

• Super Strength: The Minotaur is strong enough to lift a car overhead and throw it some distance away.
• Super Speed: The Minotaur moves much faster than one would expect for his size. He can move just as quickly on two legs as he can on four legs.
• Immortality: Like all monsters, the Minotaur has no soul. When killed, his body turns to ash and travels to Tartarus. Over time, his body will regenerate and he will return to the living world.
