The Niños de la Luz (Spanish for Children of the Light) is a group guarding the Rift from supernatural monsters.
History[]
The group was founded over a century ago by children who escaped the cliches of La Llorona. They have spent this time after their escapes training to fight the forces of darkness and keep them at bay for the rest of the world.
Paola Santiago series[]
Paola Santiago and the River of Tears[]
Paola Santiago and Dante Mata meet up with the Niños as they are trying to find Emma Lockwood. After they aid in defeating the camp from a hoard of La Mano Panchona, the two are asked to join and they agree to join temporary. They defend the camp from a hoard of Ahogada as Pao discovers her flashlight is the key to The Rift. After The Rift is destroyed, Marisa and Franco agree to be co-leaders of the Niños.
Paola Santiago and the Forest of Nightmares[]
After detecting an anomaly in Oregon, Franco orders the niños to head north. They all, except Naomi, leave the investigate and are imprisoned by a band of Duendecillos. Eventually Paola and Naomi find them and they work together to get out of their holding cell. When they escape they come face to face with the anomaly, The Hitchhiker, and fight a near losing battle. However it vanishes after Paola gets it’s summoner to pass on. After returning to Arizona they take up refuge in a warehouse.
Paola Santiago and the Sanctuary of Shadows[]
The Niños spend the next eight months training until a new threat, El Cucuy, emerges and threatens to kill their loved ones before killing them. A portal opens up in the warehouse and they fend them off until Pao returns with the source of El Cucuy's power and they each take on the fear until it disintegrates and the enemy forces die. However one of their leaders, Franco, is killed in the fighting.
