A nome is a district, region or facility. The term originated in Ancient Egypt, when Egypt was divided into forty-two provinces. In modern times, the system is now used by the House of Life and has expanded globally with a total of three hundred and sixty nomes. Most are located in cities while a few are located in isolated areas or totalitarian states as they are stated to be punishment assignments.

Trivia[]
- The word Nome, like many others used both in the series and today to refer to concepts or characters outside of the Divine Words, actually has its origin in the Greek interpretation of Egypt. The original name would be transliterated as spat or sepat, to which the hieroglyphs 𓊾𓈈 would correspond to it (as an ideogram), under the proper name of said Nome (generally a characteristic of the place).
- Although the number 360 is clearly a reference to the numbering of the Egyptian calendar and the degrees of a circle, with the same origin, this is confusing when it comes to understanding which territory is or is not a Nome, because in the case of the Twenty-First Nome , this turns out to be the state of New York, with its headquarters in Brooklyn, but, instead, the Eighteenth Nome, which corresponds to Russia and with its headquarters in Saint Petersburg, this is a confederate state. It is impossible for the Nomes to be unique countries, since multiple states of the United States have been shown with their own numbering, while it is unlikely, unless due to a serious calculation error, that the states of a Federation would be counted independently in all cases, since the amount far exceeds the number 360.
