We know whose house this is, my mother must pay for her pagan crimes.

–Stuyvesant revealing why he wants the manse destroyed in Wrath of the Triple Goddess.

Peter Stuyvesant was a Greek demigod son of Hecate and a Dutch colonial officer who served as the last director-general of New Netherland.

History[]

Hecate-RR

Hecate, his mother.

Peter led the colony of New Netherland in present day New York City and is buried there. However, while he is a Greek demigod, Peter hated paganism and his mother Hecate in particular and wished to protect his city from it.

Following his death, Peter is well remembered into modern times with Annabeth Chase idolizing him. However, his status as a demigod appears to have been lost to time with not even Annabeth being aware of it.

The Senior Year Adventures[]

Wrath of the Triple Goddess[]

Peter is mentioned by Annabeth Chase due to her idolizing him and his accomplishments.

On Halloween, Percy Jackson and Annabeth use a set of Hecate's Torches to summon an army of ghosts led by Peter to magically repair the manse, Hecate's home. Once the job is done, Peter leads the ghosts in turning on the demigods, revealing his own heritage as a son of Hecate and attempting to violently purge her influence from the city, possessing a mounted police officer in the process. As the demigods, Grover, and the house's creatures struggle to repel the ghostly attack, the forces of Camp Half-Blood arrive, having been invited to a Halloween party by Percy and Annabeth who had forgotten to cancel it. Argus is able to restrain Peter, giving Percy and Annabeth time to use Hecate's torches to banish the ghosts. Peter resists, wailing that he can't allow Hecate to stay in his city. Frowning at the swirling coal particles that make up the ghost like they were the remnants of a dream, Clovis embraces Peter, telling his cousin that it's a big city now, it belongs to everyone, and Peter has done his part and deserves a rest. With a long deep sigh, Peter lets go and dissolves.

Percy later tells Hecate about the events with Peter and his ghost army. Percy notices that a tear seems to escape the goddess at the mention of her son, and she admits that Peter wasn't her best attempt at parenting.
