Photokinesis is the mental and/or physical ability to control light. To a greater extent, one could become invisible, concentrate light particles into lasers, and manipulate any part of the light spectrum (ultraviolet, infrared, etc.).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians[]
The Last Olympian[]
Hyperion, the Titan of light, is one of the lieutenants in Kronos' army during the Second Titan War. He is in Central Park and uses his powers over light to attack a group of satyrs and nature spirits. Percy Jackson comments that he was hard to look at as he radiates light. Percy uses his abilities over water to put out Hyperion's light, and creates a hurricane to prevent Hyperion from using his powers on land. Grover Underwood and Leneus, along with many other satyrs, play their Reed Pipes, and imprison Hyperion in a "very nice maple tree" they create with the music.
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard[]
Magnus Chase is capable of generating light, either when altering the seasons or healing others.
The Trials of Apollo[]
The Dark Prophecy[]
During the Attack on the Waystation, Apollo was able to generate light to blind Commodus and the emperor’s guards.
The Tower of Nero[]
Much to Apollo's surprise, his son Will Solace has inherited some of his father's powers over light which effectively turns Will into a walking flashlight at times. When enraged by Nero causing harm to his father and boyfriend, Will's glow turns blinding to the point that Apollo compares it to the light generated by his and Nero's own godly rage.
The Sun and the Star: A Nico di Angelo Adventure[]
While fighting Nyx, in a moment of rage, Will Solace blasts the primordial goddess with a ray of light so powerful that one of her wings is singed and the goddess is left genuinely shocked. He is also able to kill the demon Epiales with this power, although the demon reforms by the time that Nico and Will fight Nyx. While trying to free Bob from his regeneration pod, Will discovers a way of channeling his photokinesis through Nico and his sword, making the blade far more powerful.

Trivia[]
- It is extremely rare that a child of Apollo can possess complete Photokinesis, as only Apollo himself; the Titan of Light, Hyperion; the Titan of the Sun, Helios; the Goddess of the Moon, Artemis; Hemera; and Aither have been known to use the ability on a strong level.
- Although not as powerful as his father, Will Solace has demonstrated a particularly powerful manifestation of this ability, learning to channel it in other ways than acting as basically a walking flashlight which was how it had first manifested for Will.
- It may be extremely rare that children of Apollo inherit this power at all as Apollo was surprised that Will had it.
