A Plat-eye is a shapeshifting ghost from Gullah folklore.
Description[]
Plat-eyes are ghosts with unfinished business, being finding something they lost for feeling guilty over a malicious act. They can be held at bay with a foul odor. They can change shape, but can't hide their eyes.

Two plat-eyes arrive at the Strong family farm to take Tristan Strong, however he and Nana Strong fight them off. They later appear at Lady Night's Juke Joint where it is revealed they are the children of Brer Bear who want Tristan to help them speak with their father.
