After defeating the [[Nemean Lion]] and losing their followers by taking a train, Percy, Grover, Thalia, and Zoë reach the end of the line with nowhere else to go. They approach a homeless man who is warming his hands in a fire in a drum can. He suggests they get on a train that was moving along, which turns out to be the Sun West Line. After Percy, Grover, Thalia, and Zoë get on the train, the homeless man disappears and the fire is put out. They board the train, inside are expensive cars, which the group rest in. The homeless man named Fred appears again later and talks to Percy, where it is revealed that he is actually [[Apollo]] .

Sun West Line is an automobile-carrying train created by Apollo. He tells Percy Jackson, Grover Underwood, Thalia Grace, Bianca di Angelo, and Zoë Nightshade to use it to go west in The Titan's Curse.
