Surya (SOOR-yuh) is the Hindu god of the sun.
History[]
Surya is a son of Kashyapa and Aditi, making him one of the Adityas.

Although not mentioned by name, Aru Shah remembered that Karna was the son of Surya before the claiming ceremony.
Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes[]
Surya was seen in a vision with Chandra when the two were line to drink the amrita after the Ocean of Milk was churned. Rahuketu slipped in between the two deva.
Trivia[]
- Surya does not have a vahana. Instead, he rides a chariot pulled by seven horses, his charioteer is Aruna.
- His Greco-Roman counterparts are Apollo and Helios.
- His Egyptian counterpart is Ra.
- His Mexica equivalent is Tonatiuh.
