Sutro Tower is a massive transmission antenna in the Bay Area.
The Trials of Apollo[]
The Tyrant's Tomb[]
Apollo, Meg McCaffrey, and Reyna Ramírez-Arellano head to and climb the antenna, as they are attacked by ravens, to find the soundless god, Harpocrates. The group finds him imprisoned by Commodus and Caligula in a storage container that is hooked up to the tower to black out communications between demigods. The three free him and the Oracle of Cumae.
Trivia[]
- The tower was named after Adolph Sutro, a businessman and former mayor of San Francisco.
- The reason for the tower was because many hills in San Francisco blocked the line-of-sight television signal, resulting in bad reception. When the tower was built in 1973, many transmitters were scattered throughout the Bay Area, including Mount Diablo.
