The word "ironic" is used wrongly in the trivia.

"the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend."

It is somewhat ironic that the motto for the hotel can be seen as an invitation or a warning. I mean the hotel is a trap, but it is kind of ironic that it tells you it is a trap right on the front door and yet, people go inside anyway. Also, the example you used above seems more like sarcasm, not true irony. But U degress. Irony can be used in many different ways and you only gave one definition of it, when there are tons of different ways to use irony.
