- The House of Hades is the first graphic novel in the Rick Riordan series to be announced at the end of the previous graphic novel.
- This graphic novel was released on the same day as Wrath of the Triple Goddess.
- When Percy learns that all the monsters they killed are in Tartarus, a picture resembling the original cover of The Lightning Thief is shown, with the Chimera replacing Cerberus and the addition of a Cyclops.
- On Sciron's bucket, Molly is depicted in the traditional Greek art style.
- The scene where Hazel causes Pasiphaë to fall into the Earth mirrors a similar scene in the graphic novel version of The Battle of the Labyrinth where Nico caused Minos, her husband, to fall into the Underworld.
