The Lightning Thief: Illustrated Edition^[1] was released August 14, 2018. It was written by Rick Riordan and illustrated by John Rocco, who had previously provided illustrations for other Riordan books such as Percy Jackson's Greek Gods and Greek Heroes. The writing is exactly the same as the original The Lightning Thief.

Development[]

The original announcement for this book was on October 17, 2017. It was announced along with many other books, such as Brooklyn House Magician's Manual.^[2] Some of the illustrations were released to build anticipation for the upcoming release.^[3]
