    Tyson won.

Contains SPOILERS for The Sword of Summer. Read at your own risk.

Halfborn Gunderson is a viking warrior who's is probably literally insane. He charges into battle and slaughters people left and right. He continues to fight even when he's injured and even nearly died in the end of the book due to his injuries. Oh, he also has 1200 years of experience fighting. It's casual.

Tyson is a Cyclops son of Poseidon who is the general of the Cyclops army. He's not very smart, but he's very useful in battle and is good with his hands. He can also grow up to 30 feet tall. Still casual.

    • Tyson :3 . He commanded the Cyclopes when attacking TYPHON. I mean, that enough, not to mention immunity to fire, copying voices, and superstrength. Halfborn is cool cuz he's a beserker, but thats not enough. I guess we have 2 wait until we know his true powers. for now, Tyson wins!

    • Halfborn can't die unless you cut him for pieces. do you really think Tyson can do that before Halfborn smash him with his axes? I don't think so.

    • ^^Tyson has far superior strength though - he can knock Halfborn out by hurling huge projectiles at him from a distance, and then hack him to pieces with Halfborn's own axes.

    • Not even an option Tyson

    • 8th you ignored the most important part: he doesn't die. I'm sure even if he was hacked to pieces he would simply reform within a few hours, lol.

I didn't ignore it at all, Sayuri - as Mallory states "He’s a berserker, [Halfborn] will keep fighting until he is literally hacked to pieces." Hence, while incredibly resistant to wounds, hacking Halfborn to pieces would work, and he would not be able to reform from that outside of Valhalla (since he wouldn't be an ever-regenerating immortal then).

    • People say Tyson wins just because they like him more.

Well, the viking has far more experience and is probably faster than Tyson, i give the victory to Halfborn.

    • Tyson can grow up to 30 ft tall, and with his immunities, he is probably stronger, and can forge better weapons too, so Tyson will probably win.

As if all the heroes in Valhalla combined could beat Typhon :'3

At least the Cyclopes leaded by Tyson beated a beast even the gods feared. Halfborn didn't even stand a chance to Fenris. He had trouble fighting a fire giant. Tyson would have no prob fighting a fire giant. So obviously, Tyson ftw!!

I agree. Gunderson is not developed enough. It will be more fair later on in the later books. What if Gunderson comes up with some super power or something later on in the books.

We do not know him enough yet.

But that's not true. We have to assume this fight is taking place outside of Valhalla, as Tyson would never be allowed there. So with Tyson's combined strength, his immunities to a lot of things, the fact that he can grow to 30 ft, from a distance he can take Halfborn down easily then cut his head off. All Tyson needs to do is pierce his heart or brain and Halfborn will go down. He may have a high tolerance for pain and ignoring his wounds but that doesn't mean he isn't human. He was a berserker and has about 1,200 years of experience but that won't do much against a battle savvy extremely strong cyclops that could easily pierce your heart from a distance.

    • Halfborn is fighting 1200 years. I don't remember what is the age of Tyson but I'm pretty sure he has much less fighting experience. remember also that when Magnus see him fight Magnus died before him so maybe he stood fighting a lot of time and we don't know.

    • As i said, fanboys, Tyson can't grow up 30 ft tall alone, that was probably Poseidon who made that with him, and Tyson did not beat Typhon, at least not alone, and that "fire giant" was the king of fire giants.
