  • What do you think will be next pantheon Rick Riordan will do next & what would you like to see in RRP if it hasn’t already been announced? For me I’m hoping for Rick to write series on the Celtic & Slavic pantheons while for RRP I would like to see at least a stand alone on either Hawaiian mythology or Aboriginal Australian folklore.

    • I'd like to see Arthurian tales myself. As to Rick Presents....well it depends on if the books stay a different canon, or they eventually do a Constantine and canon weld into the larger Riordan/arrowverse. If they do that, I'd like to see Chinese myths with a reference to the Zhang family. If they stay separate I'd be interested in a Pacific Coast native american/first nation one, mostly because I really'd like a Sasquatch character.

    • Either some middle eastern culture such as Babylon, or Carthage, Carthage might be a little harder considering how scarce information on it is but that hasn't stopped him from teasing the readers with Hasdrubal, Hannibal, the Carthaginian serpent, and so on.

Not sure you could have a series based on them, even a three book series a la Magnus and the Kanes. However they could make a good source of antagonists for a Roman focused series.

      Revenge of the Phoenicians.

Problem is I have no idea what Rick will do next in the space of the Greeks and Romans. I mean the only logical options i can think of are Trojan War, and WORLD WAR MYTH...which could very well be the same as the former.

    • Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Riordan's take on what the Northern Native North American deities and significant mythological figures are like.

In particular, the Haudenoshaunee mythos would be an interesting thing to cover.

I suspect he'd leave that to the RR presents and just Constantine it in. Given he mentioned Arthur and co in a side book, Arthurian could be something he tackles. It's actually surprisingly tied to Greece and Rome.

    • there is a surpisingly amount of information on the Phonecian pantheon, more than enough for a three book series. I do see your point however as most of it is rather hidden, but given the baal cycle, and other Phonecian / Carthaginan myths I think something could be done. However, i do suppose he could just combine a Gaulic and Carthaginian one as they tended to cross paths multiple times.

    • For rick, definitly Australian Aboriginal. it has so many myths, maybe more than greek, norse, and egyptian combined, because each aboriginal nation has its own pantheon, and they could be welded together, with the rainbow serpent (the only creature in all aboriginal nations myth) as the leader.

    • I think it could be cool if he did something based on an ancient cult. I think that might be a bit overambitious though, so I'm betting it would be some well-known mythology from a place that no longer exists. Or he might just keep adding on to Greek mythology, maybe even add a Gen 2.
