Trivia[]
- The park's full name is Charles Lee Tilden Regional Park. It was named in honor of the attorney and businessman who served on the first Board of Directors of the East Bay Regional Park District.
- The merry-go-round was built by the Herschell-Spillman Company of Tonawanda, New York in 1911. It has been constantly moved around from the late Urbita Hot Springs, San Diego County, and Griffith Park until it moved to Tilden Park in 1948. Originally it had three rows of animals but it expanded to four in 1950. When they acquired the merry-go-round in the 1970s, the East Bay Regional Park District hired a team of artists to restore the animals, spinning tub, and chariots.
- Other features in the park include Lake Anza, the Regional Parks Botanic Garden, the Redwood Valley Railway, and the Brazilian Room.
