Troy is a legendary city in Greece and the site of the Trojan War. It was magically constructed by Poseidon.

The Senior Year Adventures[]

Wrath of the Triple Goddess[]

Hecuba summons undead Trojans to wreak havoc in the Greek community in Astoria due to her pain and grief over the loss of her children when Troy fell.

While Shadow Traveling across the world, Hecuba brings Percy Jackson to the ruins of Troy. Percy recognizes it as the city that Hecuba had once ruled when she was human, and he sits with her on the beach. Percy opens up to Hecuba about his life, his concerns for his unborn sister, the people that he's lost and how Percy wants revenge when he loses someone. However, Percy remembers that his friends and mother want him to be happy, to find people who matter, and hang onto them for as long as he can and he encourages Hecuba to do the same with Hecate, Gale and Nope. Recalling how Zeus once turned Thalia Grace into a tree in order to save her, Percy suggests that Hecate had turned Hecuba into a hellhound in order to save her the only way that the goddess knew how. Hecuba agrees to return, and Percy agrees not to put her on the leash again and to talk to Hecate about getting her more freedom.

Annabeth later tells Percy that when she was touched Hecuba's undead soldiers, she saw Troy itself and its destruction. Annabeth reveals that Hecuba was dragged out, her family killed, and the magic that was used by Poseidon to construct the city unraveled, like Troy's reason for existing just stopped.
