Trivia[]

The Utah territory originally consisted of what is now Nevada in the West, Western Colorado in the east, and what is today southwest Wyoming. This was due to a deal between the U.S. government and the Mormons that they could have their own territory, but if they found gold then that section would be annexed by the country.
Utah is part of the Mexican Cession, land obtained by the United States after the Mexican-American War, along with Arizona, California, Nevada, and New Mexico. Along with Western Colorado and Southwestern Wyoming.
