Zeus' Fist is a pile of rocks in the forest of Camp Half-Blood shaped like a large fist. Ever since the Battle of the Labyrinth it has been considered cursed, because that is where Kampê was killed.

Description[]

Zeus

Zeus, the god of the sky.

If looked at from a certain angle, it looks like a large fist. If looked at from any other angle, it looks like a pile of deer droppings. The campers are prohibited from calling it "Poop Pile", as Zeus tends to be picky about things that bear his name. Chiron believes it's disrespectful to call something a "pile of deer poop" after it was initially named after the king of the gods. It's often used in Capture the Flag as a location for a flag, as it is clearly visible and hard to climb (now the campers stay away from it because of Kampê's death during the Battle of the Labyrinth). The fist also used to be one of the entrances to the Labyrinth.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians[]

The Titan's Curse[]

Percy Jackson and Thalia Grace uses it as a place for the flag in the Campers-Hunters capture the flag game. Even though it is hard to climb, Zoë Nightshade found a way and got up there very fast. While not revealed until the next book, Nico di Angelo finds the entrance to the Labyrinth at Zeus' Fist and uses it to flee camp.

The Battle of the Labyrinth[]

Dionysusgn

Dionysus, who the Maenads serve.

During a training exercise, Percy and Annabeth Chase found out that Zeus' Fist also serves as an entrance into the Labyrinth. Luke used the entrance in the Battle of the Labyrinth to get his army into Camp Half Blood. After the battle and Daedalus' death, all entrances to the Labyrinth, including this one, were destroyed. Although campers still avoid Zeus' Fist as Briares, the Hundred-handed one, defeated Kampê by throwing rocks at her so only her poisonous scimitars stuck out of the pile of rocks.

The Heroes of Olympus[]

The Demigod Diaries []

In Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, and Leo Valdez go to the clearing where Zeus' Fist is located while searching for Buford the walking table. Piper comments that the area was cursed. They watch as the Maenads arrive, and the nymphs call for Dionysus and party in the clearing. The nymphs notice the heroes and they eventually end up running for their lives.
